First off, the rewards. The first race really only pays out 136,000 credits? That is a joke for something that would take about two hours to finish. In two hours I can make over 2,400,000 grinding the American Championship race.

This brings me to my second issue with these top-tier races and the game design in general. The level of competition. I mean, this game seems to be designed around monotony. You finally get the XP to unlock the endurance races, and you're up against... an IMPREZA sedan!!

I'm using the Formula GT and lapping these cars left and right. Sure, it's great to see how powerful my car is after saving up so much money to get it, but why on earth am I racing against the same cars I was up against in the Beginner events?!

I've looked for places to up the racing difficulty outside of the steering settings and haven't found any. I don't want to rant, really I have been loving this game, but the design of the gameplay itself just baffles me. I just can't fathom the logic behind the progression of this game.

Not all races should be with race cars. If you're using the FGT against an STi and getting bored, that's your own fault. Do the race in a comparable car if you want a challenge.

The higher lvl endurance races are against actual race cars based on what I've seen.

agreeee. i find no difficulty at all. in previous GT, the design of the A-spec races is just awesome. u win a car for the next race and so on... here.... u win a lame ass car that has nothing to do with anything except sit in my garage waiting to be sold for a good 7k cr.... in previous GT i look foward to my rewards... in GT5... its not surprising... earlier i jst got rewarded the Ferrari California... ooo yay... yippe... 5 seconds later... LAMEEEEEE :)

but i love the game. love how tires changes color when u go to the grass or sand... love how the grass movesssss.... love everything... and i think the Experience level style gameplay ruins it for me.... i think a racing game as good as GT doesnt need it. LEVEL mean nothing when ur racing online and up against someone who cant even race at lets say level 40... or cant even tune their cars the right way... and loose to a LEVEL lets say 20... its just lame. i dont see Sebastien Vettel have a LEVEL on his forehead saying hes level 24 or something..... :/

:dunce:
Try driving what they drive. They give you lists of your "typical opponents".
Utilize this feature. Any stock 250+ hp Japanese car will do.
And when you get to the Roadster 4h, don't make a 300HP Miata, drive a stock one. That or lap them 30 times, it's up to you.

Yes, but honestly the endurance races are ridiculous to begin with. I want to get them over as fast as possible. I have things to do, even though I love the game. The B-Spec endurance races, I really don't get. Turn the game on and leave... ok.

I like that some of the endurance races are in slower cars. It gets a bit stressful driving a really fast car against really fast cars for a long period of time. What you should do is drive a car like what is meant to be ran in the event and then the race will be more entertaining though you might not win :)

I remember in GT4 I ran the Laguna Seca 90 laps with an Amuse R1 going for 200 points. The car to beat was the Series One Shelby. It was a good race but I forgot to take into account the body warp on my car and miscalculated the number of laps I could get on Med tires near the end. So in what I thought would be my last pit stop I put on Med tires and juts enough fuel to finish and started chasing the Shelby which had got in front while I was in the pits. I get about 10 laps from the end and my right front tire is starting to turn orange my laps are slowing down and the Shelby is pulling away.

So I think I have no choice but to pit again and that is going to cost me another 30 seconds knowing the Shelby is not going to stop this is going to be hard. So I got in the pits ASAP and put on super softs and just started driving like there was no tomorrow. Tire squeal in every corner tires wearing out fast. I came around the last corner on the last lap right on the bumper of the Shelby and decided to bump him. He moved, I missed and went in the sand. Ended up 2nd after 90 laps and thought what a race. I restarted and did it again then and there. :)

Haha yeah... A 24hr endurance race?! It's great that they are pushing for realism, but that is just too much.

I don't have the time to play these either, so I doubt I will ever get 100% in this game. The best I can do is maybe play a couple of hours per night and pause the game in between, but that would mean leaving my PS3 on continuously for over a week which I don't think would be too good.

I dunno i seem to recall that in gt2 or 3 that endurance races payed quite a bit. Did not even bother with them in gt4 i just ran nurburg time trials like a possessed madman.

GT5 the rewards are based on xp, rather than cr, the good paying races put out rather poor xp, but the endurance races that put out poor pay give boatloads of xp.

I would lest like my 200 mile 500 miles races to cover the cost of my chassis and engine repairs, the cr reward is stupidly low, and the cars you get for doing most of them are laughably horrible.

I mean i have to go back and grind like the wind or the american oval to get enough cr to pay my car repairs between A-spec that pays stupidly low and B_spec that might as well not pay anything for as little as they pay.

Dude... I can't do that.

I have a wife. Just sayin'. Getting to level 25 has already put her through a lot. Lol.:lol::lol:

You don't need to repair your car that often. Just because GT Auto give you the option to rebuild or refresh don;t mean that you need to do it just yet.

Exactly, I love these things. 33 and counting in B-spec and I do nothing except push a few buttons every 9 hours at this point. Beats grinding the A-spec races to level.

Seriously, people go way overboard with this. My Formula GT has 15k miles on it and I haven't done the engine rebuild yet, there's no reason to when it still destroys every other car.

LOL Mine has 16,000 and Bob just entered the 9 hour Tsukuba race with it. Still no rebuild or refresh and of course he is still winning.

Exactly, why bother wasting 500k credits. Mine is running the 9 hour race right now, 887 hp vs. 935 is hardly going to make a difference against R34s or whatever joke competition is in that race. I had no problem winning the Formula GT series with the car at 887 hp too, it's pointless to keep spending money on engine rebuilds.

another good option is to buy a small, low HP car (AE86 Sprinter is always my favourite for this)
add all the good bits apart from racing mods
that way you have a fully tuned/ tunable car, that drives very very well and is setup how you like it,
but because of the lower power figure, it's still a challenge to drive against the other stock cars.

Many of the things in the game have left me with a massive itch on scalp as if I have dandruff, from little things to downright massive misjudgments.

I Love the endurance racing, but the rewards do not justify the effort/time involved.
Still my favorite racing game for the PS3 though. Feels way more natural than NFS:Shift

I know that but, if my cars already got a few 100 or few 1000 miles on it endurance races are not going to do it chassis any good at all, and if i am driving the car i sure as hell want that body fixed up so i can actually drive it.

If your race manager gave you a car with a cracked and warped frame and told you to go 500 miles in it i would tell him to stuff it and so should your bobs. :P

Point is most cars frames go bad at about 600 miles driven, i think my italia's chassis went bad right about 600 and the engine started dropping hp soon after.

And any car i would use for any endurance race i have driven and my bobs have driven it not like i got cars with 0 miles sitting around i not put tires on and done some work on and put laps in on the track. Races do not pay enough cr to even cover the work on a econo box car, and that is just painfully stupid.

The point is the minor increase in performance does not justify the cost of the repairs. Unless you're running a one make race and really need every advantage it's not worth it.

It just shows what an unbalanced mess this game can be at times, the prize money is crap compared to what you need for the decent cars, the prize cars are just pointless at times and totally worthless to your progress in the game and when you get to the endurance races it's a total grind fest just to unlock the next race. PD need to give this a serious rethink come GT6.

A bad chassis is not a minor point period, it unbalances the car and literally makes it undrivable, yea a loss of hp is not going to kill a car but a loss of stability cornering and under acceleration does is not a minor loss of performance if you have to slow boat around a track or else put your car off the track.

As I said earlier my Formula GT is at 15k miles with no repairs and I've had no problems with the chassis whatsoever. If issues do eventually develop it must take a very long time, I'll save my money.

show me lap time comparisons that chassis refresh really does this and i'll give you my formula gt. srs

I won it two days ago easily. I'm not making baseless claims here, in my experience these repairs make little to no difference.
