i appologise if this has been dealt with before, i did do a search and came up with nothing..

i was wondering what the game uses to define an 'unmodified' car.. would a car become modified if it is equiped with un-removable parts? i've tried testing out a couple of theories but have obtained no definitive answer..

if i wanted to enter a race for 'unmodified cars only', what could i do to a car and still be able to enter it?

Lo!

Your best bet is to do the race with a stock vehicle.
Or you could buy parts that you can equip/unequip, but not apply. I.E. Weight reductions, increase displacement, etc.

But I just did them with stock rides.

In terms of GT4 "Unmodified" really means "production car" - ie not a racecar, prototype, or tuner car. You can buy a stock car, mod it to the nines, and enter it into an unmodified race with no problem at all. Probably a mixup in translation.

Oh - and the confusion doesn't stop there... Of the three prize cars you can use in the Supercar Festival, one is a prototype (NSX LM Road Car), one was a one off which had production cancelled (TVR Speed 12), and one is strictly speaking a tuner car (Ruf Yellowbird). There's a thread with more info if you do a search on Supercar Festival.

thanks gregc, will look into that supercar festival thread.. :)

And would you believe, it's just bounced up onto the front page

Anyone noticed the Cadillac Cien sneaking in to a race it's not supposed to be in? ;)
