Here's something I've been wondering; has anyone else been trying out non-standard rally cars? By that I mean trying to build a road car into a rally car, or by slapping dirt tires on any race-ready car that will accept them and taking them for a spin.
Some of you might remember I was trying to get a New Beetle RSi to work on the dirt courses, and while it wasn't the smashing success I had hoped it would be it did manage to clear out the first two Tahiti courses with some effort. And recently I discovered that putting rally tires on an otherwise unmodified Astra Touring Car makes for a very unusual and sometimes unruly (but fast!) ride. Take it out to Smokey Mountain and check out the comet-trail of sparks it leaves on the paved section!
Anyone else have any unstandard rallyers they've been using lately? Maybe some suggestions of cars to try?
