Hi, Jordan and IT staff,
There's an issue with GTPlanet links from Google searches (Especially Chrome) where it warns of malware and identity theft. I'm on my college's wifi, which may be a factor.

Here's a snip of the message (I was trying to get to the Pokemon thread from google).

OK, thanks for letting me know.

This appears to be a problem caused by Google indexing our content at gtplanet.com instead of gtplanet.net, which then triggers a domain/certificate mismatch. There's no security risk, but it should have never happened. Looks like I've got a lot of work to do... :indiff:

In the meantime, just be sure that you're accessing the site via the real address, gtplanet.net, and you'll never see these error messages.

Out of curiosity, can you tell me exactly what search query you were using on Google that led you to that page?

I think I tried two:

pokemon games gotta discuss 'em all (the thread is the 5th or 6th result)

And:

pokemon gtplanet (2nd and 3rd results lead to the same thread)

Whew... that turned into a day-long debugging session.

You may continue to find some erroneous links to "https://gtplanet.com" in Google search results, but they should be filtered out over the next few days as their index updates.

As mentioned, if you come across any, just be sure to point the first part of the protocol and domain name to "https://www.gtplanet.net/..." and you should be able to find the page you're looking for.

This is/was actually a pretty serious issue, so thanks again for bringing it to my attention.

More minor thing, you have a bad link in this message.

Heh, yeah, it wasn't supposed to be a real link, but the forum software automatically tried to turn it into one.

I was having this exact same issue a while back, just thought it was the school WiFi causing it so I started using my data.

I can't believe I didn't notice the ".com" :ouch:
