Have been clearing out Beginner Cup and entered the pickup race with a Dodge RAM 1550 Quad Hemi Cab (did I get that right?). Stuck a Stage 2 tune, NOS and racing chip in it, went from 340ish HP to about 540HP and was expecting to earn single figure A-Spec points....yet when I load up the race it says I earn 199 points! This is despite demolishing the opposition (and not thorugh hot-**** driving either!)

Weird...

Anyone else have anything similar?

its because it weighs more than an elephant. its a well known way of achieving useless A-spec points

Oh, I thought it was a glitch with that car that it always gave you 200pts. If you got 199 that aperently isn't true.
It's power/weight ratio can't be that bad, can it? Wouldn't it loose then? Or are A-spec points calculated on some level beyond power/weight and tire choice?

No, you're right. It's definitely a glitch in the A-spec point system and it's not just an issue with it's weight (which actually works well with the Ford Lightning and the Aston Martin Vanquish). There is one vehicle that's more massive... the Land Rover. Test it against the same lineup and note the point difference. There are other tests that prove it.

That's why it's kinda frowned upon. :ouch:
