Hello people


As GT5 is getting closer, and it seems that it is very likely that we will have a comprehensive customisable online facility, what do the staff (if they do) have in mind for some official GTP online championships/competitions.

With what we have in the way of Prologue, (with its limited online set up) it seems that we manage (with a little improvisation) to have some quite fantastic competitions created by members and staff alike.

Like all of you, I am quite excited at the prospect of huge fair and competitive online championships, where also I can race against individuals at my level, seeing as I am approx 2-4 seconds a lap slower then the best on GT5 planet.

I guess what we all need are competitions that cater for all abilities, like we have now with divisions etc

So if you have anything in mind, post up here. Also would be nice to hear ideas from members too.
 
I was thinking....What if they set-up sorta like a time-attack game where it sets you up with people in your time frame? Sort of like a rank. As you get better you start racing with people in that time frame and etc etc.

World Highspeed Grand Touring Championship (WHGTC)

Cars:
2 classes - 750PP / 600PP (something like that, cant say exact numbers)
8 cars per class
Every race car that fits into the LM/GT1/GT2 classes.
No prototypes, no Group C, no Super GT cars, no stock cars, no Stockcars (NASCAR), no Touringcars, no Rallye cars. If there will be race modifications, every car that fits into the LM/GT1/GT2 classes is allowed.

Tracks:
Highspeed Ring (7 laps), Circuit de la Sarthe (w. chicanes) (4 laps), Daytona Roadcourse (5 laps), Indianapolis Roadcourse (if available) (5 laps), Highspeed Ring [R] (9 laps), Red Rock Valley (if avalable) (5 laps).

1 Mandatory pitstop

Setup and tires: Free

Could make a nice afternoon.

A 24hr Le Mans race, in a 60's GT40! That you could spilt driving time, with a few friends!:sly:👍
 
Who will race for 24 hrs online? Even i'm not that determined.
 
Hmmm.. Someone could possibly organize top speed club similar to 300mph club..
 
Thanks for you input guys. I was also hoping the staff would chime in, as I am sure that they have some great official GTPlanet events planned for GT5. I think that they are a little shy, or maybe they have a dose of KY flu and they can't speak! hehe
 
I am sure the staff has their own ideas. As long as I can find races that aren't grief fests then I will be quite content. I hope professional physics online races are more common and with lower PP cars. 600pp and up can get old. I am all for more diversity, not copy and paste races.

I like the good old best motoring days.

5 laps battle at Tsukuba, Twin Ring Motegi (full course), and 2 lap battle at nurburgring.

All bone stock. No turbos / Supercharger etc. Simulation tires (Normal tires), no aids. (If possible) Full damage, Tire wear, Engine heats (for high revers e.g NSX-R driver that always go to 9,500 rpm to switch gear, it's possible on a real car, but do it a lot can blow up your engine.) to make it more realistic.

300mph? i don't think that's realistic for a production or race cars. Only motor that can go that fast are Drag cars and jet boat. Maybe the 200mph club, or 320kmh club, just like in japan wangan. but top speed race are going to be big in GT5 that's for sure :D. I'm 100% sure the good old Test course will be back and probably more beautiful and longer than ever, the one in GT4 is near perfect enough, but the physics drags the experience backward and the lack of in-car.
 
Seconded ralph89. Bone stock, no weight reductions, and the only suspension adjustments. This is superior to the horsepower queen races.

:lol: I'd rather choose the Test Course for a veyron challange. They are not actually very good on winding roads :D. And if their in Monaco it's probably impossible to overtake, because of their fat body's:lol:

From what I hear, they are more point and shoot cars. Kind of like a heavier Citroen GTbyCitroen. I hope there are more courses with elevation changes are featured in the online races. The Eiger is nice, but a little too narrow for frequent position changes. Judging by that weather map in GT5:P, i am sure Spa will do the trick.

Maybe the suspension adjustment too.. HP doesn't matter though if they are in the same class it's all about the driver. And in Nurburgring using normal tires is a nightmare and add the GT5 physics on that and the ridiculous amount of road bumps :lol:.

seeing that 260mph is pretty possible, adding 40mph to that shouldn't be a problem. I mean, how hard can it be? *then remembers his 300mph 300ZX attempt* :ouch: Uh, yeah.. but anyways, race for top speed would be interesting, especially now that multiplayer is available with online leaderboards.
 
I hope the gunsai touge from best motoring is in the game, have 200hp or less, 350hp and then touge max, and have leader boards, for best sector times, then Initial D races, 2 cars, whoever spreads the gap wins, if the chasing car stays on the front runners tail they win, then have a round by round races, then semis, quarter and then finals. I love the gunsai touge its amazing

Gunsai and Sendai Highland circuit are my favourite.

Crazy, as in being disconnected from the server for whatever reason.
