I'm sure the answer to this is probably on here somewhere but I'll ask anyway because it's starting to really peev me off. I have been unable to play this game for nearly 2 years because the install of this update continually fails. I have tried every which way to install but get the same result, fail, I have a PS3 slim which has no other games saved on it whatsoever, I have repeatedly tried installing update 1.22 one at a time but to no avail, this is rediculous, please help.
It's the 2155mb update just to be clear.

Have you tried deleting your game data then installing each update one by one? My friend did that and his GT6 made it.

I was lucky enough to never have issues with updating but not so with my PS3.

I had to do a fresh install last night on a fat ps3 , due to my dad just buying the game and getting a corrupted install .. I deleted his game data and started again , I downloaded all updates in one go ( took 3 hrs ) , started the game and let it do it's thing over night , woke up this morning to a fully updated, working gt6 ...
What did my dad do different to me ? I used a wired connection , he used wifi...

Thanks for the replies guys, I've tried both wired and wireless with the same result, the install starts at 20 mins left on 1.13 and just stays there, the blue bar moves a bit and then I eventually get the 'install failed' screen.

Have you tried the one by one install after FULLY WIPING your PS3?

I mean i know it takes time, i know its a pain in the ass, I know you lose a lot of maybe important things if you dont want to do a full back up, but it might be what you neeed.

On other news, i did do a full install from scratch (got the game this satruday) and just let the ps3 did his own thing and the game is fully working, so I have no clue why some Ps3s work and some dont.

It's really tough for those starting from scratch with so many updates to then update to the latest. Really takes some time and patience. You've got a slim which means your PS3 is not that old as compared with the older Fat PS3 so you should be ok.
Wired is definitely the best in terms of speed for updating. But you say you've tried wired anyhow.
Try it again with wired. During the update/s you may think it's taking too long but persevere, it speeds up during the process along the way. I did mine in one go myself. In the end it was well worth it. Just let it do its thing and hope you don't get a fail. Be rooting for you.

@PaulT Try deleting your whole Game Data from XMB, clear your cache (from GT6 in game options), then rebuild your PS3 database (you won't lose data if you follow the instructions: http://community.us.playstation.com...-amp-Database-Helps-to-Maintain/td-p/37322987).

After that use a wired connection, download and install the updates one by one. Once done redownload any DLC like Anniversary cars (if you have it), refresh all thumbnails in garage and you're set. It can take a while depending on internet speed, but you might as well do a clean reinstall to avoid any future problems. My game begin freezing during loading races and I did a full reinstall and I never had any problem since.

I would also recommend NOT choosing to install game data, as that tends to make a mess of your HDD over time. Loading from the disc is slower, but more safer in the long run.

Thanks again for the help guys, I will delete everything from the memory tonight, although I have done this previously, it has been sitting for 12 hours now at 20 mins left on the in-game install of 1.13, hopefully it will have installed by the time I get home in another 10 hours.

Did you delete everything, rebuild your PS3 and install them one by one like I said?

If you keeps getting stuck that means the file system is messed up somewhere. GT can't install the other files on top of it and it will keep getting stuck at the same point.

I did, it keeps getting stuck in 1.13, I'll try once more then I'll look for a new HDD for it, can these be linked to an external drive? I have a 1TB one that I can use.
