Update download fixed?

Who needs a xbox? I gotta PS3!
I got my Dad a 40G PS3 & GT5P for Fathers day, I wanted to get it completely setup so when I gave it to him it would just need to be hooked up & it would be ready to play out of the box.

I installed GT5P & did the update & it downloaded first time with no problems!
I was shocked because it took me literally a dozen or more times to update mine.
I also downloaded all the GTTV shows & they downloaded first time.

So did Poly fix the update download problem or did I just get lucky?
 
I think there never was a problem to fix, there just was much more traffic on the servers when the update was released.
 
It installed first attempt no problem for me on release day, but Jackingon (from here at GTP) bought a PS3+ GT5P a few days ago and he had problems with the update.
