Update/Endurance Race bug

My GT5 updated while I had an endurance race on save. Now fuel won't get added to my car. Awful. 49mph down the Mulsanne is not fun. Also the other cars are going even slower than me! Anyone know a fix or am I going to have to trash the 14 hours I have put in to this race and start over?
 
This is a common problem with the new update when you have saved an endurance and updated during the suspension.

As a result, the only way to fix it (for now) is to exit the race and start over.

Just to add, any update that changes physics will affect a resumed game.

I always stress to people "don't update during an endurance race!", it doesn't work!
