Update In the Middle of a Mid Race Save?

Does anybody know if updating while in the middle of a Mid Race Save effects the Race? I'm currently 13 hours into a 24 hour race and would really not like to restart. The Update screen keeps popping up every 3 minutes or so and is getting a bit annoying. I'd like to Update but would rather not have to start this race over again as it's ridiculously long to do by yourself. So, has anybody updated during a mid race save? And what was the result!
 
Back up your current save to usb then if it does going wrong after updating you still have the back up on usb so you could delete install data and then just update to 2.05 and save will/should work.

Will updating mess up current race? Honestly I don't know but I'll guess no........
 
How about unplugging your INTERNET cable until you finish the race, this should keep the update notice from popping up. Not sure how updating the game during mid-race would effect race but I for one wouldn't want to start race from scratch again being over half way done with it.
 
I'm doing a 24 hr race myself. And I had no issues when I installed it. I was exactly where I left off.
 
I'm also 13 hrs into a 24 hr. A-Spec race with no problems at all.
 
Well, for some reason A few days after the update, my mid race save is gone. 19 hours in and it's acting like I never even did it :(
