So I updated today and now I have no sounds whatsoever in the game, from the moment I get prompted to sign in the sounds are dead, no music no nothing. Other games work just fine. My first attempt at downloading the update didn't work so now I'm starting over from a clean install to see if it solves anything. Anyone else encounter this?????

Exit out of the game. The update has nothing to do with the loss of sound.

I exited and even shut my ps3 off and all sounds were still mute, I even tried a different hdmi port.

Try a different game. If the sound is still mute, then it's something else. If the sound isn't mute however, try reinstalling the game data.

Make sure it's not something stupid. Like have something plugged in wrong, or not have the volume turned up:ouch: I've made these mistakes from time to time :D

The sound is fine for other games and works in the ps3 menus. I tried messing with all the settings and nothing. The only other thing besides updating was hooking my system up to a different tv but I've done that before with no issues and besides like I said other games work so this is a gt5 problem. I figured the game data must have got messed up so I erased it and I'm in the process of reinstalling but with a crap dsl connection all the updates are taking forever. I'll report back this afternoon.

Tip: Go into Sound Setting on your PS3 and re check it and then exit. It happened to me on another game, that fixed it.

I tried unplugging the hdmi even tried using a different port. I can't check the sound settings right now but I wouldn't think it would make a difference if other games are working properly.

There is no setting there for "GT5" :p

I've had this problem before, all I need to do is change channel and back to retrieve the lost sounds.

Change channel on the tv or in the gt5 audio setting? I tried both to no avail.

Did you had custom music playing in the menus before?
Try and disable all custom music options (racing, menus and slide show thingie...) Save, quit game, and go back again.

If it still doesn't work, check your audio settings on options > hardware inside GT5.
Maybe the volume is low, of something else is playing in the background.

I have this problem when moving the ps3 to a different tv and yes it does only happen ongt5 every other game works fine all i uave to do is on the ps3 before you go on gt5 go to sound settings and just set it in a sort of express settings dont use custom and it works fine 👍

Sounds great (no pun intended) ill try it when I get home. Too bad I have to reinstall gt5 again I guess I shouldn't have jumped the gun.

Ok well I reinstalled my game data and the sounds came back, so we can chalk it up as the most extreme measure to fix the issue. I will def try all the other suggestions if it happens again. Thanks for all the input guys!!!
