Hi,
Just been playing around online and then I joined a room on Spa, then I clicked "Go to track". An error message came up saying I cannot drive on this track, you haven't bought the Dlc. It was fine before the update, also if anybody is planning a race event on Spa make sure all participants have the Dlc or this will ruin it.

Thanks :)

Well done PD about time a good decision was made, Seems as though you'll have to buy the DLC for christmas :)

Sounds harsh but i agree too and now feel my £10 was well spent, now some seasonals including all DLC cars and tracks and ill have nothing left to moan about lol :)

This is a good decision. The people who didn't pay should consider themselves lucky for being able to try it out before the update.

with DLC purchased cars now being available in the Dealership, are they tradeable as well?

No, they are still not tradeable, even if bought from the dealerships.

People need to understand that pay-for-DLC will never be tradeable. It would defeat the purpose of having to pay for the DLC. ;)

Now you can't enter anymore without DLC.

Which means... We are the winner!

This was unexpected, but I see why PD did it. A lot of people didn't buy the track pack simply because they could just join a Spa lobby and use the track there for free. So for those of us who paid for the tracks, this update seems fair. Although I feel that PD should've given us a warning that they'd do something like this, as a lot of leagues and events will probably have to do some last-minute track changes because not all of the participants have the DLC.

To be honest I'm surprised this hasn't caused a bunch of "I'm so disappointed in you PD!" "This isn't fair!" "I can't leech off my friends anymore!" threads. A sign that the community is becoming nicer, perhaps?

Yeah I'm not upset about this because I payed to have it. I liked it originally because we couldn't buy it till a week later so it let us TRY it online which was cool, but as soon as I could buy it I did. I've never been able to try any other game DLC online without paying for it.

This leads me to believe they are finally planning the track pack DLC's and they want us to buy them instead of use them free online, Which I don't have a problem with. BRING ON THE TRACKS!!!

With many Race Series saying that DLC is mandatory, its a bit of a moot point overall. It was unexpected but it was bound to happen anyway.

I payed so i'm personally ok, and i know that probably it has to be like this since the beginning, but i feel sorry for some friend. Some of them don't play gt too much, only online with people they know and for me it was fine to share the dlc tracks with them.

I may sound stupid but i'd like an option to leave my friends use it in my private lobby.

Its so funny to think how PD missed the fact the track worked online for non-paying users. Lol, I mean what kind of QA is that?

However, it does make a lot sense, otherwise people wouldn't buy the DLC. On the other hand tho, maybe they did it intentionally so people can try it out before blocking with the excuse of a bug fix.

Looks like some didn't realize they could play it online without buying. My friend bought it and only later found out so it got him thinking he was ****ed. Guess not tho... :)

I'll buy it, it's obviously worth it. Good and hard track Spa!

the best decision pd has made by far. why should folk be allowed to play on our own DLC

Because people can share every once in a while?
I don't mind it at all, in fact my lounge was set so my friends who didn't buy the DLC could come in and use the track.

I gave it some more thought and I think PD did this thinking about future Track DLC. Almost everybody now knew that they wouldn't need to buy the DLC to drive it online so it would have a big influence on future DLC sales.

I'm going to have to agree, I was taught to share when I was little.. I was racing online last night and I had about 6 others in the room with me, and only 3 of us including myself actually had Spa, so only 3 of us raced, the others all left and one stayed and watched.. I don't mind sharing honestly.

Well I for one like to share it. Very good idea to not exclude other fellow racers online. But I was born in the 60s and grow up with a different attitude towards others. Somehow one separates wealthy and poor that way. And keep in mind many like me did buy the game only as we've played since GT1 - Compared to former titles GT5's content was ...what can I say, disappointing? So personally I think it's part of good manner to hand out some more.

Btw when I read something like "Yes, we are the winners" towards others have been left out leaves me speechless. Please remember it's Christmas and what it's all about.

If everyone gets the benefits of what we bought with our money what the point of anyone buying it.

If you build yourself a pool in your backward and then find half of your neighbors in it, you wouldn't think it's fair very long.

But in GT5 you have the choice of allowing people in. People didn't have to make online rooms did they...?

Every game has the same system, GT5 players have been spoiled by making DLC available to them when it hadn't been purchased. Can't think of many other examples where this has happened.

Yeah I'd like to play on other zombie maps on Black Ops with my friends who've got the lot, if I don't buy them though I can't play them, simple as that.

Wait so now you have to have bought the track?
That sucks, that's gonna make it a lot less usefull. If I'm hosting a room full of people and a few of us want to go to Spa then everybody else would have to leave. Statistically I'm sure that the majority of people don't have the pack, most people probably don't play enough to feel that the purchase is worth it ( which is my opinion of Halo, CoD, battlefield, etc. map packs). This will make GT5 tracks about as much use as the Nürb GP pack for Forza 3, no A spec events on it and now very limited use online as well.

I already bought the track, I did so 5 minutes after it became available, because I know I will use it regularly. I have no problem with somebody else who did not racing on it in my room because it means more cars on the track and better value out of it for me. Allowing use of the track to non-buyers was a clever, kind, and unique thing of PD to do, changing it was motivated by nothing other than thoughtless greed.
