Just incase you haven't seen it yet, the spring rate(s) values have been changed on most, if not all road cars.

Some cars have had the fr and rr rates even out, whereas before it was 0.1 to 0.2 different (usually higher on the lighter end of the car) and the range of the spring has been increased to.

Examples:

Alfa Mito '09
Was fr 1.4-3.3 & rr 1.6 - 3.5 - 'range' of 1.9
Now fr 1.5-3.5 & rr 1.5 - 3.5 - 'range' of 2.0

8c Competizione '08
Was fr 1.6 - 3.5 & rr 1.8 - 3.7 - 'range' of 1.9
Now fr 1.75 - 3.75 & rr 1.75 - 5.75 'range' of 2.0

BMW M3 '89
Was fr 1.2 - 3.1 & rr 1.35 - 3.25 - 'range' of 1.9
Now fr 1.25 - 3.25 & rr 1.25 & 3.25 - 'range' of 2.0

Ford Mustang GT '15
Was fr 1.3 - 3.2 & rr 1.45 - 3.35 - 'range' of 1.9
Now fr 1.5 - 3.5 & rr 1.5 - 3.50 - 'range' of 2.0

I checked about 25/30 cars on my list, it was the same for everyone. Some cars had the 'tuned' spring rates completely changed, others were about 'right'.

Aero changes to racecars (there's been changes to roadcars too)

I'm trying to compare SaRG (Stability and Rotational G) figures from settings from V1.71 to previous (V1.70) as I hoped this might shed some light on things. Trying to look for continuity or correlation, but it's not looking good.

I carried on with the tests for a while but after finding some things, as posted elsewhere, I stopped with the tests and started selling off the test cars. Then of course, sods law, PD drop this update.

I've gone back to my test car fleet but most of them have now been sold off, I did manage to find some cars that I still had data for so tried doing a comparison with them, but unfortunately, it doesn't look good.

There weren't many stock cars left that I had SaRG data for and even worse, because PD have changed so many things in settings it means most of the cars that are left are not valid. This is mainly due to things like aero changes to the car, but I managed to find 3 stock cars I had data for that were unaffected.

I had a few modified cars cars left to compare too, but because PD has changed the aero on some of these cars, and the others I didn't record the original aero figures for them so technically this invalidates the data :( :

It's not a great analysis, only data from 3 stock cars out of 500+(?) is not really credible. The changes to SaRG for the stock cars indicate that in some way the calculation the game is doing to give the SaRG figures has changed, but the downside is that we can't tell if this is due to a physics change or the calculation / formula used by the game to show these figures.

If anyone knows how to differentiate these then please post  👍

Have to be honest and say looking at the amount of changes to settings / setups it looks like the data for SaRG before V1.71 update is now going to be irrelevant, oh well.

But also, after experiencing just how bad things have become with the rallying, plus taking into account PD's history of going back on itself (with 'physics' changes), then I wouldn't be surprised if PD does another update where they (try) to put in corrections for V1.71 - which will give more cause for pre 1.71 SaRG data to become irrelevant, oh well, c'est la GT life innit :indiff:

I'll probably do a few more little tests like weight reduction and compare to pre V1.71 data as this is quite simple (checking to see if weight distribution is affected by weight reduction, plus things like ballast position etc...). If anyone has ny idea, suggestions or wants to do some tests etc then feel free
