Probably becuase when you are logged in, it will give you the time region you have set in your profile.

I have the forums set to GMT, but if I am not logged in, I guess they show American time for wherever the site is based.

Both appear the same to me, whether I am logged in or out.

Just put it down to the database being squirrley at the time. ;)

Clear cache, cookies, etc.

Is it just that one post? or is every post that has ever been edited doing the same thing? If it's just that one post, then what does it matter?

It's impossible for that to be a database problem. If anything, it's cached content somewhere between him and the server.

Probably because the Time Region in your settings and the default time of the site are the same. ;)
Time region settings are irrelevant to post content. Only one version is stored in the database along with a timestamp of when the last edit was made.

Don't take my comment to heart Jordan, that is the excuse that is used in Second Life for any anomaly. I was trying to be funny.

It's ok for me if this not fixed. I just hope this problem do not grow big later on.

I try it again today, cleared browser cache before entering URL. I try with Opera 7.5 and Internet Explorer 5, same result, the post will show old content only when I am logged in.

I check again today and it still the same.

I guess I just have to browse this site without login.

If you don't live in GMT (around UK area), then when you're not logged in it's wrong, if you selected your own time, the time will only be right when you're logged in.

For example, here's my time - Feb 12, 2:45pm (GMT+9:30):

And here's GMT - Feb 12 - 5:15am (GMT+9:30):

Try clearing your browser data (eg, history, cache, cookies, etc)

My problem is not different time when logged in, it's different post content.

To proof that this is not cache problem, here is the content when I am logged in:

The previous post is mine, so I can edit it to show that my post change when I edit it:

notice that the post by PlayGuy shows no file link. But when I am logged out, the post with link showed up:

I am not familiar with vbulletin software, so I can only guess what's going on. But it shouldn't be cache problem since I never heard proxy or web cache that only cache part of the web page content. My best guess is vbulletin always store every post update and but display only the newest one. it store the newest id on atleast two places (edit: maybe three places, since Jordan says he see no difference). This happen because it only able to update only two place, leaving one place not uptodate.I think this happen because this post posted around the time when GTPlanet database has problem.

BTW, which post do you see when you browse the link? is it like two first image or the last one?

edit: I try to match my time with default time (GMT-4) and still has the same result as above.

Please don't look at this as a request to fix the problem, I just want to this to be noted.

I see the content from the last image. Very strange, as it is impossible for that old content to be stored on our server as only one version of each post is kept at a time. When you view the post directly (by clicking on the "post #" at the top left of the post), do you still see the differences?
