Ok, so for Christmas I'm giving my DFGT to my friend for $50, which I plan on putting to a new wheel... if it's worth it.

I've only had my DFGT for about just over half a year, but I'm serious about sim racing now and I don't know if it's worth upgrading. I mentioned the GT2 & the G27 in the title, should I bother with the GT2 for an extra $200 AUD (I have an xbox and Forza) or go with a $300 G27 (Love JB sales) or if I should keep my DFGT a little bit longer.
Thanks in advance.

lol giving for 50$? more like selling ;)

if you have xbox and want to play forza then Fanatec GT2/CSR is your only option.

there are adapters for G27 to work in Xbox/Forza but I think it doesn't support force feedback which is not ideal imo

Fanatec, from the guys I race with have all different levels of support and they seem very sporadic with their quality, as well as they even sent electrical components to one of my buddies and had him fit it himself during the warranty period. As well as driver updates, and the risk of bricking your wheel.

So if you are handy with a soldering iron, or ain't afraid to have to fix something yourself, and stuff around with firmware updates all the time, then yeah they might be an ok wheel for you.

Or you can just get a G27 and plug and play on on PC or PS3 straight out of the box with half decent support.

Just my 2c worth.

END OF RANT ;)

^ So true! Plus you can upgrade to a larger wheel, paddles, buttons, and even upgrade the brake spring all for about the same money as a fanatec. Yes it voids the warranty, but its deffinetly worth it.

Now if I could upgrade it to a quiet belt drive,I'd be in heaven.

Not amazing with a soldering iron, firmware updates are no problem. Think I will just get the G27 c:

Have never heard that Fanatec has send someone some electronic component you should solder on or something like that. If they send something electrical, they usually supply complete board or part that you just have to connect via connector or so.

I would spend the extra money and get the CSR xl value pack. It provides you with a wheel that plays on all three platforms and you get a set of pedals with a load cell. You will also get 2 shifters (1 H and 1 sequential).

The G27 does not enable you to play with your XBox360.

Thanks for all the replies, but I've ordered a G27.... Mainly because I can't be bothered pumping out the extra money :s
