Hey guys, have had my cockpit for a few months now and am thinking about upgrading to some sort of car seat...

You can have a quick look at my current setup here:

I have been looking at something like this http://www.soldsmart.com.au/l3.aspx?goods=Reclining-Racing-Car-Seat but am not sure how comfortable it would be?

I was also thinking about going to a wreckers to look for a normal car seat. My only concern is that it would weigh too much - the above seat weighs ~15kg so any heavier and it might end up being a pain in the butt moving it into the garage when not in use etc..

Thoughts?

Thanks

Unless you could find a light weight carbon fibre seat (which is hugely expensive) then i guess you gotta find a bucket seat. Electric Car seats with motors in them tend to weigh a lot so i think you should try to find a car seat with no motors in it

I would suggest using a regular car seat. It will cost you less, and almost certainly be more comfortable than a cheap racing seat (like the one you linked to).

If you want to go with a racing seat, you have to spend money to get a decent one. Otherwise your bum is going to be sore after an hour or so. That's been my experience.

$20-50 dollars will get you almost any seat at a junkyard. Any sports seat will be better than the plastic bucket you had (I had an AK Rocker then I got a 2002 protege seat for 20 bucks) PS passenger seats may not have the lumbar and height adjustments but they are generally barely used vs the driver seat so its a trade off.

I got a passenger seat from a Toyota Corolla FXGT. It's really comfy and I can sit in it for hours. I got it free but I'm sure your best bet is to go to a wreaker and find something you like. Much cheaper than buying a 'cheap' 'racing' seat.
