Uploading Replays to Youtube

Apparently not without some other piece of hardware. In the past 2 years, has that changed?

No, it's not changed - you still need a device that can record your replay in a video format that is supported by YouTube. All replays are made of is 1s and 0s so they're not a video format, and can never be. You need a PVR or capture card to record the replay to make it uploadable to YouTube.
