Urgent Photoshop help needed please!

Here's my problem, I drew all of these boxes and lines and such, but when I go to color them, the color just turns gray.
In the picture I have my color picked (red arrow and then I click ok and it turns the grayish color(green arrow). It's like it's set on some sort of gray scale or something. I can't even hue/saturation it. If you could help me soon that would be great because this is due in 4 hours.

Nevermind, I made a new document and I ahd the original on grayscale so I picked RGB color and it works, so could a mod please close this. Thank You.

Make sure you have this selected. If it's on grayscale, then every color you try to put in there will be black&white. I'm 100% sure this will help. Have fun.

New document then this pops up, look at that open menu and select RGB Color.

Thanks guys, but I finally figured it out, I just copied it all and pasted into a new document like SS said. Thanks for the quick replies though.
