US Millitary Rules for Engagement

I thought about putting this in the Comedy Corner, but then I realized it's not funny, it's accurate. Apply this to your everyday life and your world will change - hopefully for the better.

Rules of Combat

USMC

• Bring a weapon. Preferably, bring at least two. Bring all of your friends who have weapons. Bring their friends who have weapons.
• Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.
• Only hits count. Close doesn't count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
• If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough, nor using cover correctly.
• Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)
• If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a big weapon and a friend with a big weapon.
• In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived and who didn't.
• If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading, and running.
• Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting is more dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the weapon.
• Use a weapon that works EVERY TIME. "All skill is in vain when an Angel pisses in the flintlock of your musket."
• Someday someone may kill you with your own weapon, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
• In combat, there are no rules, always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
• Have a plan.
• Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work.
• Use cover or concealment as much as possible. The visible target should be in FRONT of YOUR weapon.
• Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.
• Don't drop your guard.
• Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees.
• Watch their hands. Hands kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them).
• Decide to be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.
• The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.
• Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.
• Be polite. Be professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
• Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
• Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun, the caliber of which does not start with a ".4."

Army

See USMC Rules for combat
Add 60 to 90 days
Hope the Marines already destroyed all meaningful resistance

Navy

Spend three weeks getting somewhere
Adopt an aggressive offshore posture
Send in the Marines
Drink Coffee
Bring back the Marines

Air Force

Kiss the spouse good-bye
Drive to the flight line
Fly to target area, drop bombs, fly back.
Pop in at the club for a couple with the guys
Go home, BBQ some burgers and drink some more beer

And lastly, Shoot first, Shoot next, Continue shooting. If someone is alive when you've run out of ammo, cut his throat with your KA-Bar. Now, consider maybe asking questions.

I have to admit, however ugly the result of military work, I admire the straightforwardness and simplicity of the philosophy. I think I'll read The Prince. It's amazing how these rules have been developed and honed over thousands of years.

When the MARG would come into port in Spain, and all the marines would get off, wander around the base, you'd see a hand full of them wearing t-shirts like that. So i guess the marines didn't care about that, neither should you.

See what war does, makes everyone paranoid. Never once did i say that i disrespected the Military. Hell Both my parents were navy along with half of the rest of my family. So far (no offense to you) you are the only person that was offenced by the "uncle sam's" thing. I even told that to marines, and they just laughed and got a smirk on their face

Anyways, all those people that say no to war, thats their right to say so. I dont agree with it, but i'm ok with it.

See how people are just getting burned for a different opinion. I am against the war cause I REALLY can't see Saddam as a present threat to the USA and UK because they have such a weak army. I reckon this war (if it does happen) will last a couple of days at most because its gonna be a quick carpet bomb attack and send in the troops to take care of the rest. What a waste of time and money.

So lets see... couple hundred million people live in America, many from other countries, and we're "all fools." Interesting.

I guess it's acceptable to make fun of disabled people in Finland. You people must be pretty primitive because it sickens more sophisticated consciences to use the helpless to make idiotic arguments.

Maybe it's nice to live someplace that doesn't matter. You can sit and criticize from afar, buffered from the problems of the world, and nobody pays any attention.

Maybe.. If we don't attack Iraq at this point in time.. Somewhere down the line, they`ll bomb your ****in' home town, and then you'll be cryin'about.. "Why didn't we go to war and stop them? Why? Finnish forces are not like the ones over there and I'm glad they aren't. MIL

A lot of Finnish technology is exploring the space right now. Not all of it is American.
And you should know Nokia, leading manufacturer in mobile industries. Yes, it's Finnish also.

I feel so sorry for the Europeans and the leftism that permeates throughout their continent.

Oh, and bless our liberal gun laws.

There is one simple fact to remember: Several states in Europe are either unwilling or unable because of domestic costs, to create and maintain a military that can handle anything on a large scale. This does not mean they are with out quality, and NATO is a joint venture, but it does mean that if the highly arrogant attitude that nothing will happen thanks the "diplomatic process" fails, few powers will be able to stop the enemy. If you are all lucky, the enemy will be small and easily thwarted, but if you need something on a large scale, you had better hope your neighbors don't foot drag. I am not expecting great praise or appreciation for the US military, but if you take a path that places most of the burden of stopping a large conflict on a few nations, you would have some gall to go into criticisms about the behavior of those nations now and in the past, whether on aid or the use of military force, although it may be valid.

When its all over, it's all over. But for now we need to do something about it. Iraq may not be as big and powerful as North Korea but NK isn't threatening us like Iraq is and that's why Iraq is #1 priority at the moment.

we will all end up in concentration camps anyway.. during the time of war the government can overrule the constitution.. bye bye rights and freedoms

These people have test fired missiles into Japanese airspace and international waters, and have publicly stated that they will 'burn New York' if threatened by the United States - and they're developing ACTUAL nuclear weapons! On the very day the new South Korean president was sworn in, they test fired a missile!

NK has a lot more sense and self control than Iraq. With that said, they'll prolly bomb us when we are at war with Iraq

But right now Iraq is number one priority because of numerous reasons I wont go into detail about.. how often do you hear about a North Korean terrorist?

Epic I want to know how does Iraq pose a serious threat to your well-being. If Saddam had half a brain he would relies going up against USA is a suicide mission. Don't forget who sold the technology to build mass destruction weapons to Saddam (USA) and who approved chemical and Biological weapons plants aswell (uk). North Korea hasnt done anything major lately to disrespect those guidelines so they aren't as important as Saddam at the moment. It's not that hard to open your eyes and read a newspaper every once in a while. Didnt you learn anything at school in History class?

Noth Korea has a history making a bunch of noise from time to time. They never actually do anything, though. Conversely, Saddam Hussein has a history of using chemical warfare in battle and to suppress his own people.

I'm still amazed that anyone sticks up for this prick. I can't wait to see his ass dead or on trial being sentenced to death.
