US Prologue release???

It appears that Sony may indeed be considering a US release of it's GT4-Prologue Edition. While PD was non-committal, it was revealed that they have not ruled out a US release of the scaled back GT4 preview. You can check out the story for yourself here.

As I have said before, it would make no sense for PD to exclude the lucrative American market in this endeavor. The profits to be made from an American Prologue release would be significant. My prediction is that Prologue WILL be released in America, probably in early Q1 of 2004. You can probably expect a European release as well.

As far as the full version of GT4 is concerned, PD is sticking to a Japanese release of Jan. 6, 2004(As is detailed here ), while a US release date has yet to be determined. I would expect it to be released anywhere from March to as late as July, 2004. Of course, if there is a US version of Prologue released, expect the delay of the full GT4 to grow.

I'd buy it if it does get released. But, Prologue is just a fancy demo disc.

i will buy prologue if it comes to australia

I will buy anything that they put the GT name on. I am just a GT whore. But seriously, I have a GT collection, so I kinda have to buy it whether it comes to America or not.;)

I'll buy the Prologue version so I can get used to using the new Logitech wheel that will be coming out also, hopefully at the same time as GT Prologue. I've never used a wheel, so I'm looking forward to this quite a bit.:D

What happened to that article which stated there won't be a US or UK release of Prologue, I hope what you say is true because I too am a GT whore and will buy anything with the GT name attached to it.

If it comes in EU then I will buy one as well, otherwise I will just dll it .

i wouldnt buy for the fact that I wanna be suprised with the Whole version.. Cuz it will suck if your playing and all and bam theres nothing more to do you know and you'd want more but you'll have to wait months before the actual release date. I mean theres good reason cuz of the wheel and such to get used to but if its a 5-10 doller demo then id get it but its more along the lines of $25 which ive been hearing then id just rather wait for the real version and use the $25 for something else...

I agree that I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise of playing the full game. However, If they do sell Prologue here, I will wait until the full version comes out, then buy Prologue. According to everything I have read, Prologue really will be a pretty good side quest to GT4 with the racing school and all. Anyway, I hope they release them both soon.......

I posted an article from Computer video games (CVG) website I think it was, that said it wouldnt be available outside Japan. Whether Sony sticks with this is up to them, personally I'd prefer to savour the moment when I get GT4.

I would only buy it if it came over here to the UK, and I'm only saying If, I would only buy it if it came free with the new wheel.

It would be very stupid for Sony ad PD to skip the US and Europe market completely with GT4 Prologue. They have money problems, selling GT4P would help. Not much, but why would anybody turn down the chance to make an easy buck? It just doesn't make sense to me.
Sony still haven't confirmed there will not be a release of GT4P in the US or Europe. Their official sites have claimed the release date for Asian contries only, that's it. Sony might be figuring out the US and Europe release dates for GT4P. That makes more sense to me.

Well you would think so, but then they didn't release GTC in US(?) which no doubt would've made enough money to make the investment worthwhile. Maybe they were too lazy to add more American cars to make the US public buy it?

e.g. they added more Euro cars for Euro release :) woo I can drive 'similar' spec of same car I'm learning to drive in :D even though car I'm learning in is Diesel

I am sure PD will make GT4 Prologue so that it doesn't ruin the full GT4 game, they want you to buy both GT4 and Prologue as it offers the full GT experience so I doubt playing GT4 prologue will dampen the full GT4.

Well it doesn't look like it's going to be released anywhere outside of Japan.
Read for yourself..........
