USB cable with GT4?

one thing i think would be really good of Sony and Polyphony would be to include a USB cable to transfer images and videos to computer, like have the game render the videos on-the-fly while transfering them and Photo-mode is effectively useless to me unless there is some way to retreive the Photos from the Memory card

even letting us email the Photos and videos while online would be great

does any of you think they might come out with something like that?
 
It would be so awesome to make your desktop images from your own cars. Sounds like a great idea to me.

good idea!! u could transfer ur photosand reviews and put them into internet !!!
 
I think that they will include some sort of transfer device such as a usb cable seeing as the firewire on the later ps2 models has been gotten rid of. They will need to, to allow the printing out of photo mode images. It would be a great idea, even if it just had usb support (not even an included cable) becuse then you could put the pictures on your computer then onto the internet.....There could be a GT4 online gallery :D , even best photo competitions judged by professionals, you could probably even win prizes!!!!! The posibilities are endless!!

GT4 and USB...........its a match made in heaven!!!

Why would they have to include a USB cable? The PS2 already has USB ports and it can technically hook up to a computer, you'd just have to have Polyphony program into the software the ability to transfer files over USB for more then just printing.
 
Theres no reason why they would need to include a cable.......but they could include a special Gran Turismo one which could be see-through or chrome with the engraved GT logo.....It would be just another collectors item, it could also have mabye data transfer lights that would light up the logo!!!!!!!!!

Either way, usb support is a must, u could download cars of the net and trafer them from your computer to the ps2's hard drive (if GT4 supports it)

It would be really sweet if you could transfer the "photos" straight to your PC, no messing around printing them. I like the idea of PD providing us with some software for our PC's so we can transfer the images across to PC, hassle free.

From what KY said in an interview @ E3, he was saying how suprised he was about the number of people who were happy to said there waiting for their pictures to print out. Basically he was implying that it takes a long time to print ;) .

Ever heard of a network adapter? ;)
PD isn't going to include usb support for sharing files if this would mean that the sales of the adapters would decline... And that would be the case indeed.

Just hooking your ps2 up with your pc via a usb cable won't make it possible to send the images to your pc harddrive if there is ony support for the usb printer. As long as the ps2 doesn't recognise the device as a printer it won't send the printfile. Maybe a printer-emulator on the pc would solve this.
 
A typical USB cable only costs about $20, why should they add it to GT4. There's no point.
 
It took 3-5 minutes to arrange a car in Photo Mode, and about 5-7 minutes to print (depending on the color usage). 5-7 minutes of staring at a screen is a long time ;) Especially when 10 other people are waiting to try it out. Of course, I think this was more of a factor of the printer rather than GT4. Any super-high quality photo printer takes awhile to print.
 
even if they don't include the cable, if the compatability was there it would be completely worth it, even if you had to download client software from the GT4 website(provided they couldn't include it with the game itself)

offtopic: PjotrStroganov, that quote in your sig is awesome, did you make it up or did you quote it from somewhere else?
