My USB devices disconnect from time to time especially when i'm playing games. Sometimes it will stay disconnected long enough to hear that little beep windows does when you disconnect a usb device. This also happened on my old computer but i've recently built a new comp using my old usb keyboard and mouse. So I'm thinkin it's either a virus or my mouse/keyboard?

Anyone have this mouse? damn what a deal... but still i dont want to waste 25 bucks just to have it disconnect on me again. http://www.hardwarecooling.com/prod...ogitech_MX510_Performance_Optical_Mouse_Blue?

With some devices, the PC can shut down the power to the USB device. You can stop this by going into Control Panel > System devices > USB device and then the power management tab. Untick the box that says something like, "Allow the PC to shut down power to this device". You can also try the same thing for the USB hub.

Okay I tried that but it still disconnects. So I swapped my USB keyboard for a ps/2 keyboard and it does the same thing. It lags when I press a keyboard button but it'll reemmber what buttons i press! Maybe it's my PSU?or Mobo? My two LED case fans connected with a Zalman Fanmate 2 controller flickers when I'm overclocking my video card. My other two fans connected to the motherboard don't flicker though.

The only parts that I used from the P4 system are just the USB keyboard and mouse. Everything else is new.
