I dont play PS2 anymore so it doesnt really matterYes, 9th and 5th pins are the ones. BTW, have you considered a possibility to use a cheap, probably non-analog controller? That would be atleast 10 times easier to solder on and wouldn't cost a dualshock.
Oh...Do you mean that place, where is "R5" printed on the PCB? That's not where you should solder anything. The pin numbers are for that long connector on the top right of the PCB - you need to solder on 5th and 9th pins of that connector.
