I was trading a car to someone, and apparently, I wanted to keep the car. So, I traded the car, put in my USB, and overwrote the previous file. I went on to GT5 and noticed that the car was there, but there was no image of the car before you open to see the car details and stuff. Does anyone know what happened? I ended up selling the car to prevent anything else from happening.

Hit triangle, then "create thumbnail" and it'll return.

You could have just pressed the triangle button to bring up the menu and selected "create thumbnail" to get the thumbnail back. It's a thing GT5 sometimes - not always for some reason - does when you get rid of a car and then magically get it back. Probably something to do with the data installed on the hard drive, the thumbnail gets deleted when the car isn't there anymore and the game can't pick it back (from nowhere) so there isn't one until you create it again.

Someone should've told me earlier. Great, my car is gone. Oh well, just to tell you, it's a Honda Prelude SiR '96. Not too great anyways....

Best part.👍

"▲" & "create thumbnail" and it's fixed. It happens mostly after you've restored a "lost" car. :sly:

This problem also happens if you reinstall the game. Kind of time consuming to create thumbnails for 300+ cars.

I had to do that the other day. :ouch:

Exactly what I was thinking.

Oh no! I was going to reinstall my game data tonight as I've been having a few problems and wanted to see if it would help. I have over 1000 cars though :nervous:

Not sure I want too now :yuck:

I did the reinstalling with almost 1000 cars. A lot of thumbs are gone after, but certainly not all. I'd say 25% or so was gone!

Erm... maybe you should've asked first? :)

You don't have to create thumbnails one at a time.

I'm pretty sure the last time I did it, there was an option do do multiple thumbnails at one time. I could be wrong but I'll recheck when I get home and post it.

I have no idea, but I tested it on a car that already had a thumbnail, and it took about five seconds. I'm so not wasting my time..:grumpy:

I replaced HDD on my system over the winter and reinstalled GT5. the only cars that didn't have thumbnails were cars that i had changed from stock IE color wheels or aero. every car that i left stock (looking) had the thumb intact.

I have a Dutch 'version' of the game, so mine doesn't say 'thumbnail'. But is it like when you favorite the car (above the option 'share')? If yes, then should 'thumbnailed' car have a list of there own (like premiums - standards - thumbnailed)?

Nope. When you are in the garage MENU, beside all the name and specs, there is the thumbnail or small picture.

I have a PS3 at work and at home i copy the saves between the two machines so most of my cars dont have thumbnails either.
