I'm debating what way is best to do gaming on my 360 because these next gen consoles games are so damn expensive. If that means I'm cheap then so be it... $50 a pop is a lot for me.

So, I'm thinking Used some how which isn't much cheaper in some cases or renting via something like Gamesnflix.

What do you guys do or would you do?

Thanks

I'm still on PS2, but I buy my games. I think I might have rented a game once, and it wasn't even for myself.

Games I really like, I pay the full $50 and get it right away. Most other games, I either get it as greatest hits($15-$20), or used.

Used may not be much cheaper at the moment, but it's going to get much cheaper as time goes on. I'd recommend buying used, because it actually is much cheaper than renting the games over and over and over :banghead:

If it's a 'must have' i'll buy new as soon as it comes out. If it's something i quite fancy i might rent first and buy if i like, or just wait until it comes out on budget and take the plunge. I'm not going to buy a game some sweaty geeks being pawing at. He might have been playing Need for Rice Plastic one moment, than 'enjoying' the internet the next

Always rent first. Games are too expensive to go out and buy one on a whim without knowing if you are going to like it or not. If you rent it and you like it, you can decide weather or not you want to spend the $50-60 to keep it.

If I know I want a game before it comes out I pre-order and buy it new.
If I know I want a game that is old I buy it used.
If I have no idea I will like a game I rent it.

Rent everything unless you know the replay value is so good that you'll play the game for longer than 2 weeks. Examples of games like this are GT, SOCOM, GTA, and HALO.

They all have story modes that take months to complete or they have online multiplayer that is fun to play for years.

I'm really glad I rented games like Mercenaries and Metal Gear Solid because they lacked more than 40 hours of gameplay. They were great games, but just not games I still want to have in my library.

Or, for the same price of a rental you could probably pick the game up used.
Gamestop usually rips people off, yes, but 3 Metal Gear Solid games (2, Substance and Snake Eater) all for 20 bucks is a screaming bargain.
That being said, I usually buy games new.

I usually rent, then buy. If something comes out that I know I want to buy immediately (GT4, SW Battlefront, Zelda TP, TDU, etc), I buy it the day it comes out. If I see something interesting I'm not sure will be worth the money (NFS Carbon, Call of Duty 3) that I can complete in the two weeks they give you when renting, I rent.

I only buy games new at 20 bucks. I am Cheap and don't feel like shelling out 50 dollars for my games. If a game is new and I must play it, I rent it. Then after the price drops (If I'm still interested) I'll buy it. But I have a bad habit of going to Game Stop and leaving with 2 or 3 older games I wont ever play :indiff:. I've had Forza for months and have played it for about 20 minutes..

I almost always buy games new. I've never bought a used game and I haven't rented in at least two, maybe three years.

I play the demos if I can, but most games that I want I usually keep up on and read reviews to make sure it isn't a flop before I go get it. The only game I've gotten in a while that sucks is Ridge Racer 7. For the record, I also have Carbon.

New and Used, some rental. Need a 'combination of all three' option.
