I think these useless cars can be a laugh, the Mini cooper is great to race with your mates. the lack of power is hilarious! 
Plus for newbies (little kids, your Wife, mom or blonde girlfriend) it's a good way to get into the GT.
Most Pro Race drivers started in Go Karting, you gotta start somewhere.
Mustang, I agree is pants. We need more BMW's , their race cars are wicked. Plus ford have far better cars than Mustang .
I wonder when we'll see the *New* Concept GT40 (Have you seen it ?) possibly in GT Concept ....Hope so.
