User BGM problem

I'm trying to get my own songs to play in GT5. I got the .mp3s from my laptop, put them onto a USB and copied them onto the PS3. Then i made a playlist with every song in it.

Into GT5 and i enabled user BGM, but when i try to select a playlist it makes me go into the playlist and select a song. I haven't waited for the song that comes up to finish so i don't know if it works by selecting a song to play in the playlist, not the playlist itself.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

When I insert my portable harddisc in my ps3 I only get the error message "No files" or "No music"
I use some sort of My Book w/500gb

Any help?:)

To get it to play a user playlist you do just need to select any song from that playlist and it will play all the others in random order too... In fact, if you're in a race and restart, it should move on to the next track.

One pain with getting the music to work on your PS3 is the file formats it reads. I may be wrong, but when reading from an external drive I think all the tracks HAVE to be MP3 (or have been ripped from a CD). If iTunes is your media player of choice you might come a bit unstuck here...

But...I have noticed that random order is a bit haphazard. There are 1 or 2 songs that seem to play far too often, while there are other tracks I've not heard at all!

Its all good!

I got commercials in my personal BGM folder.

I get 4 songs, then commercial, 4 songs then commercial.

What commercial you ask? I have had pretty much all the Bud Light "Real men of genius" commercials downloaded for a long time lol.

"Bud light salutes you mr silent gas passerer" lol I got like 10 or 12 different ones haha

search on youtube if you dont know what im talking about

check this one out haha

I can say I have no problem with the bgm music set up for GT5 except the custom one which shuts off when I decide to go online which is strange but I just make a huge playlist of songs and just dump about a hundred or two songs and just play it along and select the play mode on the side and just slide it to shuffle being on and tracks with no repeat what so ever and just live on GT5 while playing my music though it reminds me of Burnout Paradise but less forgiving like being able to listen online or change tracks as i drive but its durable.
