I’ve found myself jotting down a lot of notes lately re: GTPlanet. For example, if I have an idea for a thread, or if I have to update a Record Book or something I will jot down a little note and get to it later.

I suspect quite a few people might do this, and I think it could be useful to incorperate a little text-box in the User CP where we could save notes.

I’m pretty certain mods can write notes about certain users to reference later, so I don’t see why a similar system can’t be incorperated for users…

Thoughts?

User notes are a feature of vBulletin, but I'm not making use of them here and they don't exactly work the way you want. The feature would have to be integrated in some other way, and I feel it would be a little redundant for GTP to have such a feature when so many other "note" options are available. Yahoo's Widgets, for example, have an awesome feature that lets you do just that. Outlook also has an integrated to-do list, even Google's Custom Homepage has a note taking feature. It's not that you don't have a good idea, I just can't see going to the trouble of integrating it when people have so many other more robust options available.

THAT evil monstrosity?! When I tried to install that, it corrupted my registry almost beyond repair!

Anyway, as jordan says, there are plenty of alternatives available, that could be customised to your own uses.

Okay, no problem. Just getting a lay of the land. 👍

I've been using Yahoo! Widgets since it was Konfabulator 1.0. Every time I think it's done something to my computer, it was actually something else causing the problem.

Really? I've been running it on 5 PC's now for almost a year and never had any problems with it.

I don't know, but it was running smoth up until I went to install it, and halfway through it BSOD'd and died. Obviously something didn't agree with it, as I have removed all traces, and I'm back tpo running smooth. Meh, sometimes this thing can be as tempermental as a Menopausal woman at 'that' time of the month.

Couldn't you just use Notepad?

Damn.....And I thought I was being clever. :D

I've got an entire little folder of note pad docs that I've jotted down info in. Works for me. 👍
