Using a Credit Card with PS Store

Today, I went to use a Visa card (debt) to purchase the COD4 Map pack now that its on sale, But it kept telling me my credit card information was incorrect? Now the card is a Debt card, do I HAVE to use a Credit card? If so, can I use one of those card's you buy from the store? I'm sure their Debt's, but maybe the gift card works differently?

Or am I seriously entering wrong information, because Im sure I'm not...
 
No your not entering wrong info. I cant use my debit card either, not sure exactly why. but pre-paid credit cards work just fine.
 
same here, my old card expired this month but when entering all the new card info with a new expiration date it gave me a ridiculous "credit card not valid" error..I've been buyng psn cards ever since, much easier to deal with.
 
My Visa Debit card works perfectly. Does your PSN details and Debit details match exactly?
 
An alternative to buying with a CC is having a trusted friend lend you their PSN log-in details, and downloading the map pack through their account. You can then pay your friend via Paypal or however convenient, or free. If your friend agrees, tell them to temporarily change their password to "trade" or something like it, then change back when the trade is complete. After the initial download, you can download the map pack free of charge 5 times.

Does your PSN address and Debit card address match?

I can't remember how I put the numbers, I'll have to look for my password to check. Pretty sure you have to have everything matching with full address. Sorry but can't say much more apart from to confirm that Debit cars do work.
 
Mine (Visa Debit) also worked fine. Start over and do it all again and see if you just entered something wrong but didn't notice. I don't think I included my security code unless it asked for it separately.
 
When you say it is a debit card let's make sure this is clear.

Can you hand it to a waiter at a restaurant and use it as a credit card? Or do you have to use a PIN number every time you use it?

If you can use it like a credit card anywhere then it should work. Mine does.


As others have said make sure your information is exact. I had an issue on mine all because I was switching Road and RD. Once I corrected that it worked.
 
Hm... Myabe it was the RD and Road thingey, What did it have to be? and i'll try leaving out the security code too, Thanks guys... and i can use it at a resturant without a pin number...

Find some mail that you have received from the bank that sent you that card and see how they list it. It is based on whatever it is that your bank has on file.
