Using headset while playing with Wheel.XBOne

So I know you can play with your headset plugged into your controller while using a wheel but does anybody know how to stop the controller from switching off. Just bought the official XB1 headset so that I can play with my volume louder and hear the car noise without anyone complaining about the noise.
 
Try looking in the console settings. Might be in the power saving or controller settings

keep controller plugged into the console, if it can reach from where you are.

Can't you plug the headset into the wheel on the XB1? I don;t have an XB1 but that is the way I always did it on the 360
 
Tx has no audio out port. You have to use the gamepad for audio, and you have to connect it to console with usb cable.
