I have a question.
Can you use a USB memory stick on a PS2 instead of a memory card? i have to wait for a while before i can get a memory card and i was hoping i can use a memory stick(i think its also called flash drive)?

well i remember seeing something in gran turismo 4 about a USB storage thing and i thought if i could use it.

If this cannot be done aswell then the USB ports on the PS2 aren't useful at all...

You can take pictures in GT4, and store them on a flash drive (or a portable hard drive) that's all the USB ports are for apart from putting in accessories like wheels, headsets etc.

so you're saying you can store photos on the flash drive thingy.
so can i use photomode without having a memory card if i have something like this?

Just wanted to add that there is hope that the PS3 will alow games to be saved to a variety of formats. £20 for 8mb is a rip off.

Indeed it is, but Sony knows that you must have one to play any games at all, so they can keep the price up there. Play with knock-offs if you dare, but I wouldn't trust them.

However, instead of getting multiple rip-offs I can highly recomend a MaxDrive.

Actually I think you can't. You save the photos in the MC and then you transfer them to the flash drive. You can't save the photos directly into it.
Is this done automatically by the PS2? Because mine transfers straight to FD as far as I know.

Hmm, then I guess it can. :dopey:

But I used to save them to the MC and use ARMAX to transfer the files to the pen drive. Although you know what happened with that... :grumpy:

You did that?

Ahh, that's because the MaxDrive automatically crushes (compresses) files when they are put onto it. No matter how it is done, it happens.

Does that clear up any problems, Felipe?

mine has an option where you can save it directly to the flash drive.. when you go to save a pic, it will say where do you want to save just click that and go down to usb flash drive :)

I've had a Madcatz 8 Mb MC from the first day I bought my PS2 which was on launch and it still works great.
