Using Scart -> HDMI adapters with video streaming devices?

Don't know where else to put this, but I give a go here.

So, does someone here have experience on using scart -> HDMI adapters with video streaming devices such as. Hauppauge HD PVR 2 or Elgato Game Capture HD60? Does the quality change dramatically or is it the same as it would be if streamed straight from scart?

I wouldn't ask this, but I wouldn't want to spend about 200 euros for nothing.

Not exactly sure what scart is, but HDMI is full 1080p and is the best possible signal. PS3 will not record from it since the PS3 has a special block built in. Most PVR's will give you a component cable to use instead, but best it can do is 1080i which is still good, but the edges aren't as crisp. You can buy certain HDMI splitters to bypass this block, but only certain ones will work. Basically 1080p is what you want and anything less gets worse and worse.

Oh, sorry. Meant AV cable (the same as above). But yeah, the adapter I was talking about looks like this...
