I tried this and it did go to my list of Gaming Devices, so i guess it is possible? But nothing happens when i press the buttons and all 4 lights are flashing on the controller.

Anyone have any clue if it's possible and how?

I seriously doubt it. The controller is wireless Bluetooth.. that cable isn't carrying any game-controlling signals, it's only there to charge the controller. Honestly, I'm surprised your computer saw anything at all on the line, but what it saw was probably just an identifier, so you'd know what was plugged into that particular port.

i didn't get it to work, has someone else tried it?

I didn't check the link, but I have a program/driver that works, but is a little bit buggy. Once it is working it is good. I'm on the Q so I'll post in a little later when I'm home.

I think I had the run the file right after hooking up the controller and pressing the PS button. It works, but isn't very straightforward sometimes.

i've ordered a ps2 usb converter now instead, so i will have some use for my old ds2 :)

People are using the Wii Remote to control their PC, and since that is also Bluetooth (as the PS3 controller) - the tehnology is certainly out there..

Someone start looking harder ( I would, but am tied up at wrrk ).....
