Using the RA Menu to Alter Settings Mid-Race

All of a sudden I can't use this feature either online or offline? I used to like using this menu mid-race in endurance races, if the tyres where dying out and I'd want to eek a few extra laps out I'd put on the traction control and just daudle around. Now I can not alter TC or ASM mid-race?

Does anybody know why this is?

(FYI, I usually race with everything except ABS off anyway so it isn't a massive problem, just was a useful feature)
