Luc-Michel Faichaud's GTR drool, quite a nice guy too, I talk to him on GTR.co.uk

It is powered by a quad turbo 6.9 liter V12 and has an OS Giken 6 speed sequential transmission. 350 mm wide front and rear tires on BBS magnesium wheels. He made most of the parts himself including the GT 500 replica bodywork.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

Any ideas on the hp or the sourcing of the engine?
Horsepower is in the 1000+ range hes hoping for 1200 he'll let me know when he gets to dyno it. I emailed him about the V12 also, someone said somethign about 2 RB26's but I'm not sure.

Impressive hp numbers. If in fact it is made of 2 I-6es, I have my doubts...those engines normally have reliablility issues and are quite heavy for the power they produce.

However, just for doing it himself he earns a very large chunk of respect from me. 👍 👍

I can't imagine it doing much with that much power going into two patches of rubber. Surely it's 4wd.

Well then, all that torque........And 4wd, wonder what the q/m times are?

Once again, one of my cool ideas actually turns out to be real...

Although I had wanted to use two 1JZs.

Quad turbo 6.9L V12 and he estimates 1200hp
Single turbo 2.6 (2.7)L I6 and he knows he's getting 1200hp

Shouldn't we be expecting more from it?

Seen it on SDU though.. Why doesn't he post more pictures of the engine? I've only seen 2 or 3 of just the engine itself.

Here's what I heard about this beauty.

It's a Merc engine. Judging from the intake it's the older 6.0 v12 he used as base.

The plans are to use it in long distance racing, therefore he's after something more reliable than a 1000 hp 2.6l engine.

Man, the engine is mounted way back in the engine bay.

Bah!... Take it to the mountain roads where it belongs.....

Hadn't noticed until you mentioned it - damn.. He must be seated somewhere around the stock backseat area... And notice the amount of space around the front wheels.. 2 words - In Sane....

Yes, it's pretty crazy.

Here's a pic of the MB 6.0 engine in case anyone wants for comparison.

I wouldn't expect any handling miracles from the car, the massive V12 would muck up front/rear weight distribution in huge ways. But, I'd guess some of that would be compensated for since the engine is pretty much mid mounted.

Actually that engine is said to be as heavy as the original Nissan 2.6. Read this on another site but haven't found a source for it yet, I'll be back with links if I find any.

The straight 6 is a POS engine design.. When I first saw the Small Block conversion of the 240Z, I though, "Idiots - Ruining a nice weight distributed car with that engine" - Until I read that the Small Block actually SAVES a few punds.. Same thing with the Straight 6 to V8 conversions done on 6 cyl. BMWs...

240Z
Ergh... V8 conversion.
I didn't say I want one.. I'd prefer a 240Z with a turboed 2.8 from the 280Z. And make that 240Z a 1973 please.. Best year made..
