Well, the newest game in the race driver series is on its way.

V8 Supercars 2005 takes the variety of motorsport experiences available in V8 2 and expanding on it even further, so no matter what your taste in racing, you'll find something to suit you. Featuring the British GT championship, series stalwarts the DTM and Aussie V8 Supercars, Sprint Cars, Rallying, and open wheel racing all the way from karts to the BMW Williams Grand Prix Cars, and much more V8 Supercars 2005 has something for everyone.

Race on tracks from all over the world, take the story-driven "world tour" mode if you want to get straight to where the action is, or for the people wanting the nuts and bolts, take the "Pro Career" mode and work you way up the ladder in different disciplines of motorsport, aiming for the pinnacle of your chosen field.

Heres some screenies.

I have high hopes for this game and hope they finally get it right. I wish they would just focus on a small group of circuit racing series though, than get caught up in the rallying, sprint-cars, etc. I'd love to just see the V8's, DTM, SuperGT and maybe a handful of other touring car championships represented, and done properly.

I like the idea of moving up in different types of racing. ie touring cars/open whellers/rally. That way you can pick of type and have a proper 'carrer' rather than just trying to win everything.

Do i remember correctly that there will be the V8 development series too? Would be cool if you could pick your own field to race against out of all of the differnt classes.

As for the damage pic above 👍 that's awesome.

Heres the FAQ posted by RFT on the Codemasters Forum...

Are all the V8 Supercars included?
All the cars from both the championship and HPDC series are planned for inclusion.
Are all the V8 Supercar Tracks included?
Sadly not- there's at least one track that is unavalible for licensing.
Has Bathurst been remodelled?
The previous Bathurst model has been scrapped and a new one started from scratch, based on the most in-depth survey of the course yet taken. The track surface should be accurate to within millimetres
Prove it.
As part of our internet-based build up to release, we'll be releasing onboard and trackside laps of key tracks of the game as video downloads. Bathurst is planned to be included in those releases
The British GT championship has Porsches and Ferraris in it, are they in V8 Supercars 2005?
Unfortunately, those teams will not be present in V8SC 2005. Elsewhere in the game, there are tuner cars that may look familiar, though.
What season of the DTM is it based on?
2005
that means we'll get the MG, then?
Currently, Yes.
Will DLC be supported?
Sadly not. Though we prefer to give you as much as possible to start with.
Will the multiplayer be tougher on cheats?
Yes, there's a whole new rules system in place that will form the heart of V8 3's way of simulation real motorsport. Transgressions will be penalised by black flags and penalty points , and players collecting too many penalty points will be ejected from the game.
Will Pro-sim be on all platforms?
Yes
Will I be able to play through the game in it?
Pro-Career, certainly. World tour mode is uncertain right now.
When can we expect a demo/ screenshots/ videos?
When they’re ready. we do plan to release a steady stream of neat stuff to look at as we progress through the year.
Will there be a PSP version?
right now, we're focusing on PS2, Xbox, and PC
Will I be able to save out screenshots lke in photo mode in Gt4?
Maybe. Might be something requiring a patch- it all depends on development time.
When's it out?
This SUMMER (oops. Sorry antipodeans- it's easy to forget abotu the backwards seasons...)

👍 looks good to me! even RD2 looks good still! After experiencing GTR GT4 has left the door wide open for other games to top it easily IMO.

This games graphic may look great, but I don't know if it'll be as realistic as GTR or GT4, but time will tell.

I still haven't got around to finishing up RD2, stupidly I started playing about a week before the Japanese release of GT4.

Looks good though.

I'll definately buy it but I still havent even finished the 1st too, I hardly even started the 2nd. Nice find Jack. Im proud of you.
