Well I searched for a topic like this and nothing appeared, well I already looked in the master car list and I saw that the only Vag licenses in GT4 are Volkswagen and Audi, well I just wanted to know if GT4 by having Vag licenses can have all of them or just a few of the bag car manufacturers, cause I will like to see the Seat cars, they are supposed to be the hardcore sport versions of the Volkswagens, theres a Seat in PGR2, I just wanted to know if GT4 will have all the Vag licenses?? and if Seat will be in the game cause they have one of the most hot hatches considered today...

Seat Leon Turbo

And I was wondering too, if the Renault Clio Sport 172 or 182 is in GT4, it was on GT Concept, and it is definitely a supr pocket rocket, and the perfect competition for the hot hatches races in GT4..

Sorta. Have you read the car list?

Seat is marked in green, meaning that it was mentioned in a magazine or an interview. So your chances are pretty low, but there is a chance that Seat will make it in the final version of GT4.

Having a license for Audi and a seperate license for VW doesn't mean PD have access to a full VAG license, that would NEVER happen, ever. PD will need a seperate license for ea\ch brand and car featured in GT4 these licenses will be easier or harder to aquire depending on the brand and he car in question.

So what you're saying is that if they have a license for one car brand doesn't mean they can use every single car, they have to get a license for every car? For example, they could have a license for a VW Passat and not a Jetta? I never knew that.

Spot on. They could have more than one car covered in a single license but having alicense for Audi does not mean they have the license for every Audi they have to negotiate and pay for each car they want to include.

The last two Seats are photoshop'd.

The Clio 182 and the V6 Mk2 would be great.

the more the merrier :D
and the Leon Turbo would be badass, yet another car i'd have in my garage (crosses fingers for a huge garage)

I hope Seat will be represented and I also hope this game will stop being SO GOD DAM ELUSIVE soon.....aaaaa thats better. :scared:  :)

Me too, I want a garage that can fit one of every car. Although that probably won't happen, I can still hope. Those Seats are pretty cool (except for the name :yuck: ).

Oh man, I really hope the Seat Leon Cupra gets in there. I love it. Me too, I want a REALLY big garage, like, NO LIMIT to how many you put in kind of garage.

Am I the only one who prefered the old style Ibiza (4th pic down) compared to the new look (facelift one) ??? I liked to old squarer lights and the more agressive sharp styling , the new one I feel is too curvy at the front!

I prefer that one too, I own an Ibiza it's a 97 one and it's been through a lot I need to replace it soon.

Yeah me too, the new one looks too much like the Arosa.

My 1993 SEAT Ibiza owns all

Sorry to disappoint you guys , but as far as I know , PD has never been in Spain to test any Seat cars , or at least no mag ever mentioned it. I really hope the cars above make it into GT4 , but if PD really got the Audi licence , I prefer to see Masseratis over Seats . For me they are on par with Ferraris.

SEAT was mentioned in a magazine so its assumed that they are in the game, you don't need to be in spain to test a Seat, just like you don't need to be in Italy to test a Ferrari or the U.S.A to test a Corvette

uh, and why exactly? whats to stop them from going to a Seat dealership, buying a car and bringing it back to PDs own test tracks or maybe even ordering one from the dealer?

there is no "need" to get to the manufacturer, all they need is the lisence approval and they can do the tests wherever they want.

PD tests most of their cars on Laguna Seca or the Nurb from what i remember, and guess what, they bring cars that aren't American to Laguna Seca, and they bring cars that aren't German to the Nurb.

First of PD don't buy any cars, neither do Sony, they hire them, also they don't have to be in the country the manufacturer is based, if they can hire a car and test it at home in Japan then I would presume they'd do that they dopn't travel to every country but also they don't hire every car either, for some harder to get cars they usually organise track day outings for people from certain car fan clubs and test thoes ect.

That's right , but if they're gonna test a 30 BMWs , it'll be easier for them to be in the manufacturer's house and see the different colors each car has. I also heard that they need the manufacturer's simulation software ?? something I have no idea about.

Nizar, i don't quite think you get the point, you don't Need anything from the manufacturer after you've gotten the License. youCan go right to the "house" as you call it, but if you can find yourself a nice stockpile of the cars you want in a more convenient location(say, near a track you intend on testing on), then there is nothing stopping you from testing there.

and there is no specialised software needed, and you don't model each color differently, you model one car and apply a different color texture to it, this doesn't require physical access to different colored cars, just knowing the composition(ie. RGB) of the color is good enough

i know all of this because i've been actively researching Licensing requirements of Manufaturers for a game i'm working on (i doubt i'll actually sign any licensing deals, more likely just create "similar" cars for the game(i'm not readily in a position to disclose any details concerning this project, and no, i'm not affiliated with any corporation, this is a private hobby project)

Most of what you said seems correct , but you're missing some details. The car manufacturer 's simulation software is a program used by car manufacturers in the early phases of creating a car , just after the concept phase. They need it to basically calculate the car's suspension , acceleration and breaking.
When he was asked about whether they needed it or not for GT4 , KY said No ( which unfortunately proves that not all cars in GT4 react differently )

Great project , I 've thought of that a couple of years ago but I soon came to realize that it was impossible to come up with something respectable with my modest programmation skills. Now it's up to you to come up with a.....Ridge Racer 0.1 :dopey: :dopey: :dopey:

well, i don't plan on it being a Ridge Racer type game, its more of a strategy "tycoon" game type of deal.

if i had to compare it to any game that currently exists, i would say its most like F1 Manager released in 2000, only will street cars and street racing culture influences.

but thats all i'll release about it for now
