Valiant Hearts tells the tale of three strangers coming together on the battlefield to help a young German soldier find love in a story about survival, sacrifice and friendship.

Solve puzzles and sneak through enemy lines while doing your best to stay alive. Each of the four playable characters (including the lovelorn German soldier) work alongside the same faithful canine companion at different times, all trying to survive in the trenches while doing their best to hold onto their humanity in the face of loss and tragedy. Though it’s set during a dark time in history, there are lighthearted (and even comical) moments spread throughout the game.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War will be available on June 25th this year on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One.

So who's excited for this? I had seen the pre-order info on Steam, and didn't think much of it. But the trailer shown at the Ubisoft E3 Press conference totally sold me.

I'm definately picking this up on PS4 when it releases later this month.

I cant wait for this game. WWI is imho massively more interesting and unfortunately even more brutal than WWII. There were some fantastic TV shows on the matter recently due to the 100th year since it started and it is absolutely fascinating to see all the little unimaginable stories and details that we mostly never heard of until this point.

VH seems to do an amazing job to tell those little stories, thats the main reason besides the amazing art style why I m looking forward to it.

I don't know about WW1 being more brutal. By all accounts, WW2 had far more deaths.
That said, WW1 has been very underused in games.

Edit: Installing it now on PS4.

Just completed it. To be honest, I can't say that I'm impressed.

On the positive side. The music is beautiful, as is the artwork. The gameplay is rather lackluster, which wouldn't really matter to me if the story was as good as I had hoped. Which it isn't. Overall, I got more emotional from watching the E3 trailer, than I did playing the game.

Occasionally, the art style just make the deaths of soldiers seem silly. Also, the game is way too long in my opinion. I think Journey is an excellent example of how long a game such as this should be. I had high hopes for the game, but ultimately, I kind of regret buying the game.

Cant agree at all. Yes, Chapter 2 and 3 have some silly moments, but Chapter 4 imho does a brilliant job of portraying the sheer brutal terror, sadness and pointlessness of this horrible war. I found the ending very powerful and I happily admit that I was in tears.

Also I loved all the little info bits and objects you can find. So many interesting and fascinating details (though some were of course about gruesome and terrifying things). Cant recommend this game enough, if only for finding out more about WWI.
