GM didn't make a transmission in the 1980s that would keep from grenading if hooked up to the W8 engine except for the three speed in the 1970s Eldorado/Toronado, and the WX-3 was built directly off of the W8.

Heh, it was either this, or the transmission going kaput faster than you can say "slushbox". Pick your poison, as they say.
