Werner Wenkels asked me to post this run for pre-verification. It's PAL.

[ link temporarily deleted ]

He's aware that some managers may be running this round. Please post your analysis here but do not announce the time. Thanks!

The time is in the replay attachment filename! How can I not see it ... ! Bobkart has been kind enough not to tell me the gtweb race, but this one is hard to miss.

So, to keep this open and fair, I will at least disclose that I am running this one.

(and I am nowhere near this time, so I feel completely depressed as well, especially since now I feel morally compelled not to run anymore the next few days ... )

Next time I don't recommend that people have their times pre-verified like this, openly to the other team captains. Use the backup-replay option, and maybe have Duke himself look at it or someone he knows and trusts to be impartial.

This is not fun, kinda like posting the results before the deadline ...

Well, I have no way to review a PAL replay. I asked Werner if he was OK with making this public, and I suggested to Werner that he contact daan for verification, since daan is no longer an alternate for Team GTPlanet. He opted to have me post it here.

Then any criticism implied in my message is all directed at Werner. ;)

I also doubt too many team captains will keep this time a secret from their runners - or gtwebs.

In this case, it wouldn't be fair either, since I know the time. But oh well.

Not a big fan of seeing guys times before the race proper. Spoils it a bit.

I'm sure with all of his other teamies that one of them could have looked at it for him, or at the very least you could have taken the time out of the filename so it would not spolit it for the guys who accidently look into this thread.

poor form.

I agree! But Werner asked me to get this reviewed before it was submitted, and there's no way to do that without people seeing the time.

Maybe Mistral can do it?

You could have said no.

Or the replay could have been handed to a non participating BC trusted driver for viewing. I'm sure it could have been sorted behind closed doors without the risk of spoiling it.

I can't, it's PAL.

The Missing Link would be one NTSCer that springs to mind.

I recommended to Werner that he contact daan, but he preferred to have it posted here.

the community is plenty of fair and honest guys who'd have checked it without saying anything...is it ever possible that he doesn't know even one of those ? :grumpy:

He could have verified it himself or another member of his team like 99% of other drivers would do :D

I think he was just throwing the gauntlet down to be honest ... Werner has improved in leaps and bounds with Rally and I'm sure by now he can tell the difference between a touch and not a touch ;)

I like his style though! .... show em who's boss Werner :p nice one! ... shame I came here too late to see the time :dopey:

It wasn't as fast as zoky's last-minute magic lap, anyway...
