Hi all:
I didn't play GT5 in a long time, today, playing it again, it is going RIDICULOUSLY slow, it takes from 1 to 5 mins to load everything, when some time ago it took only 10 to 30 secs.
Solutions? Reinstalling it will solve? (it is already installed)

How is your internet connection? Try running without net plugged in.

Try clearing cache.

SSD or SSHD Harddrive upgrade. at the slowest you will be roughly 30% faster than the fastest HDD times. Imagine GT5 actually being fast and not waiting 5 minutes between screens and popups. I'm going to SSD asap.

I really don't think the issue here is related to the speed/type of your PS3 drive, as I am running a regular HD (non-SSD) and experience no such problems.

The delays are more than likely being caused by GT5 trying to communicate with PD servers, which they do a ridiculous amount of times in the game, this will cause the long delays if there is a connection issue.

As previously suggested, try playing the game logged out of PSN (if the game asks if you want to connect, click "no"). If that helps the problem, then take the next step and clear the game cache and also check your PS3 internet settings (NAT-type, etc)

Also it is worth trying the "recover data" option in the game options menu.

What realy fixed it for me was changing from a wireless to a wired internet connection.
(The wireless of the PS3 will automatically turn off when it isn't doing anything (for instance a single-player race) and takes forever to reconnect, sometimes it even fails)
I found out by trying to quit and restart the game and logging in and out of PSN.

Also turn off any custom music you might have installed.

Yes, is the best upgrade, i put a cheap SSD ocz agility3 60gb SATA3.
Obiously PS3 only run SATA2. but works a 60% more fast than the stock HDD.
