alright, im only on the 4th race of the all japan gt series in the pro league, and my oil light is on and i need to chan ge the oil (hp is down from 618 to 588). is there any way i can change the oil without exiting the race series? if i have to exit, can i pick up where i left off, or do i have to restart it? i need help!

Unfortunatly no. You have to stick with the oil you have untill the end of the series :grumpy:

rcravincase - this is the third time I've noticed you ask a question or make a statement which would have been easily solved by the use of our wonderful facility here.

Please use it and we'll all get along.

Yes, just like perpetual quoting, all of these features have a purpose.

You're in the pro league and you still don't know you can't change your oil in the middle of the championship races. :odd:

Maybe he is heading off to the pro league without completeing everything else?

Anyway, the question has been answered, and the flames have been fanned. I think we're done, right?

Just in his defense, I was also unaware being able to change the oil in a middle of a series race even when I was in pro league.... because I do races outta order... like the Pro FF races before I bother with the Nov Evo races and what not :p

i have done all the other races before, but i was not aware if you could or couldnt because i hadnt had the problem before. as for the search, i try and use it but i usually dont get anything or it isnt working right

"Oil" wouldn't return much, as it's too short for the search function. Be a little more creative with your wording and you can find anything you want - I've never had a problem with the search function.

It's a bit crap not being able to do an oil change during a Championship...... I'm sure the computer cars don't suffer from this afflication at all!

Great game this is something that really bugs me though!!! :ouch:

correct, this has been proven,
and yes the search button works - but it might work better if it were 3x bigger and had flashing lights and arrows pointing at it
now would someone close this thread?
all the questions have been answered, its just the same old thing coming up again and again

I would like to add to this question, by asking the following; I ran the Gran Turismo All Stars race last night and half way through the Test Course my oil light came on. At the end of the race, of course the damage was done to my Toyota GT1, permanent loss of power.
I always change my oil prior to entering any race. I ran this circuit on T4 tires and later realized the opposition was pitting twice, and I would not have to pit but one time, hence the 30 to 45 and sometimes over a minute lead. Not much fun after the first couple of laps of real competition coming from the rear.
My question is I was on lap 13 on the Test Course before I needed to pit, with my oil light blazing. If I pit more often does this give the car a chance to rest and keep the oil from playing out?

Nope.

Oil wears out at the magic 189 miles. If you check the "READ THIS: Look Here before you ask" thread about, it gives you a link to a great thread by BadBatsuMaru titled "Everything about HP, break-in, and oil changes.

A great break down of how your car acts.

I hesitated adding to the thread, but I really couldn't find anything that directly addressed my question, within the 3 pages of threads I found in my search. Thanks for responding though. Also thanks for the link.
