OK, situation: I have a website, and my wife has a website. We both use Frontpage to manage them.
Setting up the site isn't the problem, and it's not the frontpage extensions.
I can access mine and her sites and do any modifications from remote. I simply open frontpage, and click "File", "open web" and it asks for the password to log into either site. I can then manipulate any and all functions of the web pages.
Now... I go to my wife's computer and do the same process. I get the error 'http://www.deralta'swifessite.com isn't accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password or the filename contains a / or \.'.
Any searching I did on the web came up with "Frontpage extentions are not installed on your server" listed as the answer to this error. However, I know that is not the case. I can open it on one computer (both laptops actually, work and home machine) but not the other. Identical versions of MS Frontpage, and indentical versions of security packages.
To take this one step further, I can go to my wifes site, in IE and click on "edit with Front page" and I can edit and work on it remotely. In fact, I can open frontpage, and click "File", "recent webs" and I can access it fine.
Does anyone have a thought or an idea on this? Even a remote thought that a speaker is placed too close to a network life seems plausible.
Thanks,
AO
