OK first off, I've been playing GT since '97. I like to say I've gotten pretty good at using a controller. But I'd now in the market for a G25/7. Looking at the comparisons between the two, their pretty much the same to me. So I'll probably save a few bucks and get the G25. That being said...

Is it worth it in the long run and will a wheel generally make you better/faster?(with practice of course...) I win probably 3/4 of my races online, but I just don't feel using a controller anymore is very satisfying. Feathering the throttle at low gear/RPMs is next to impossible. Playing the GT6 demo, I feel handcuffed using a DS3. Just doesn't seem like a controller on a "real driving simulator" is cutting it anymore. I'm just kinda looking for any input for a veteran controller user in general regarding a g25/7. Anything I should know before laying down the $$$?

Thanks.

You won't regret switching to the G27. The only drawback is the clutch must be fully depressed to shift. I have owned one since June of 2012. It improved my times.

Go for the G27 👍

G25 cant even be bought new and buying used is a recipe for disaster. Kinda makes the decision a no brainer. .

Get the G27. Don't even think about it. If you want a driving simulation experience, a wheel is the only way to go. 👍

I'd say go for the G27 as well. The G25 is showing its age and G27 was built to be more durable from the get go. They're basically the same except G27 is much better in many small details (sturdier feel on the wheel, better feel on the shifter).

As for the other things, you're right about many things being impossible to do with a DS3. Some times when you're pushing really hard in a car you have to make such small moves with the throttle and wheel, you simply can't do it as smoothly with your fingers as you can with your hands and feet.

There are a few videos on youtube comparing the G27 with the G25 if you want any specifics.
