Vice city save bug

Does anyone know of a save bug in Vice city ?

The reason im asking is that im having problems with the game ..
I recently restarted the game to get all the packages etc before starting the missions.

Now the game won't work i was on 55% complete at this point.

The title screens and the loading from memory card screen is fine but after these are finnished im presented with a black screen.

Im sure my PS2 is fine as is the disk .
I loaded it up without the memory card and it worked fine.

so that only leaves some sort of save bug

Can anyone shed some light on how to avoid this problem from ocurring again .

Supposedly if you save at the icecream place there is a chance that your save file could get corrupted. I've only heard about this happening to a few people but I still don't take any chances and have never saved there. I don't know of any way to fix it either.


EDIT: i mean Cherry Poppers when i say icecream place
 
I've heard that you shouldn't save at the Cherry Poppers save point. I never have, but I'm not sure what the reason is...

I guess i need to start all over again

Well i can definatly confirm that the cherry popper save point is a no go area
It just had to happen to me :mad:

The same thing happened to me i have no idea why, so i had restart the game, i don't think i saved at the cherry popper though.
 
It screwed up my memory card at 94%, so don't even complain.....but now i dont save there, and im up to 55% again.
 
That's where i usualy save and I've never had any problems...I guess i'm just lucky.
 
I'm not taking any chances so I'm never saving at Cherry Poppers.
It's just as easy to go the mansion like 10 seconds away, plus you can stock up on weapons and armor before you save so when you laod its all ready.
 
Thats what i've started doing .you can collect weapons before and after you save makes much more sense

Damn cherry poppers srewing up my game :mad:
