Video, Audio, Document, Archive: Free Online Conversion Utility *wow*

I normally don't go around posting links of sites and services I have found but I found this site to be extremely useful. I needed a 3g2 cell phone video converted to avi, and without downloading a spyware infested freeware program, or buying a program, I tried http://www.zamzar.com/ which is a online video conversion utility program. Not sure of all the limitations and it did take a fair amount of time to get it done, but if you're patient and don't need it right away, this might be the ticket to get the video in the right format.

Since it would be a shame to not use that screamer of a computer you have, I suggest using either Any video Converter or Dr. Dixv. To date, I've had no issues with either of them.

AVC gives you plenty of options for output format and although it doesn't list all supported input types (like vob's, for example) it still crunches them just fine.

Dr. Divx, on the other hand, only converts to (shocker!) Divx, which you might not want, although it works great for converting movies to be playable on the PS3 (instructions for that are in post #27, for anyone interested).

*shush* I was on my work laptop where admin rights are becoming scarce to install new programs. Big brothers watching. This is a nice alternative to installing a new app.

Speaking of the new PC, I did some Photoshop editing lastnight and it is fast. Rendering previews were almost instant.

There is also the website that is called Media Convert. They have the same amount of different file conversions but you can upload up to 200MB per file instead of 100MB. This website has served me nicely in many situations where I needed a somewhat good quality but I needed it fast or I was just stuck using the website with no other options.
