Video Capture Card - Help Needed

I know this topic has probably been beat to death, but I've searched and havent really found the answer I need. What is a good, inexpensive video capture card I can buy at say, Wal Mart, or Best Buy? I've searched their sites and dont exactly know what I need to buy. If anyone could possibly get me a link to what I need it would be greatly appreciated.

... I know the mods on this forum have tendency to close everything, so please dont close this until I get the answer I need. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the ATI TV Wonder you linked, but it looks quite nice actually :) I like the software bundle aswell!

I would stick to PCI capture cards as people said that USB ones have fluctuating transfer rates and all sorts.

A good value and very cheap video capture card is the Hauppauge WinTV Go - which is the one I have. I can tell you that it does it's job very nicely!

Here's an example video of what i've achieved with the WinTV Go card:

Hey thanks man, I think I'm going to go ahead and get the ATI TV Wonder, although I have one more question. The video I will record will be saved onto a card, right? How much will I be able to put on one card?

As I've said abour a million times beofer - The Pinnacle PCTV Stereo works wonders (Has for me at least).... The picture quality when watching TV and playing PS2 games is excellent..... The TV software is pretty good too...

Thing is - I have a Hauppauge WinTVPVR 150 in my box ATM... And while I'm still not convinced about the picture quality, it is indeed VERY nice to know that the encoding of the TV / PS2 signal is done in hardware by a dedicated processor rather that wasting your precious FX-53 CPU time....

The TV software that comes with the PVR150 blows balls though....

The video is captured by the card, and then saved onto a hard drive normally as a .avi or .mpg file

But is the Pinnacle PCTV classed as 'inexpensive'?

I must agree that if you want very high quality capture, then the Pinnacle PCTV or WinTV PVR series should be considered - especially as they have S-Video inputs :)
