I'm trying to decide on what my next vid card should be. This GeForce4 Ti4600 has done me well the past few years or more but I think it needs a rest. I've been thinking about getting a Radeon X800 GTO, a 6600GT, or anything you can suggest thats under $200 and will give me the best bang for my buck. I only ask because I've never used a ATI card so I dont know how they perform in comparison to Nvidia.

TIA.

Don't go thinking that either nVidia or ATi are better than the other, it really doesn't matter. A good card is a good card regardless of who makes it.

If you've got a 200$ budget and you like gaming, i'd advise spending all of it (everything in the 200$ price range is good bang for buck). Don't go thinking you'll 'cope' with a cheap card, you won't.

I would recommend getting a 6800GS 256MB AGP card from wherever. They're under 200$ now and are decent cards. The 6600GT was getting old 6 months ago, i can't imagine it's worth looking at now. Don't know much about the GTO tbh.
