Love the immersion you got going on there. Makes me look like an idiot who is just playing 'sim racer' instead of being one with my 32" Philips TV. lol

Mind if I add this to your review section? ;)

Go right ahead my friend. :)

Yeah the immersion is pretty nuts. The video actually doesn't do it justice because I didn't have the money for a wide angle lens after spending all my money on the HD camera. LOL

Thanks buddy.
4.5 hours from Beantown.

Greeze my friend, 720p in all its glory. LOL ;)

I kid, just wanted to let people know that while 1080p would be better, you can definitely build a convincing and awesome surround picture with much cheaper 720p beamers. These are inexpensive Qumi 300 LED beamers. All three cost me less than a single nice 1080p 3D beamer.

Damn, you down in the SW corner then.

Your hard work has paid off for you for sure.

I'm sure the video doesn't do it justice and the camera cannot getbthe screen transitions quite color matched, but either way still gorgeous!

Yeah, even HD cameras do a slight color shift that isn't present in real life. You'll notice it as banding. But not seen with the naked eye for sure. I don't have everything tweaked the way I like yet and need to get my screen seam attachments on there so there will be ZERO seam so there is always something to do. LOL

I thought I noticed the top edges of the physical screen werent quite aligned. I thought it was just the screen I'm using.( original Motorola Droid) double (( my wife and daughter are away with the laptop and tablet so its the only internet I have))

Oh wait, ps3 has a browser....dummy...

No the top edges are aligned. I'm speaking of the seams between screens. right now I'm using a white tape material. I'm trying to develop semi curved inserts that would allow you to go from canted to semi curved by removing the inserts and it gets rid of the seam between screens that creates a shadow. Like I said, always something to tinker with, hehe.

Wait... what? How? How are you getting a close to seamless 3-monitor setup? That is awesome man.

Edit: Just read about the tape, but still, are you overlapping screens then?

Negative, everything is seamless. I'm using projectors, not monitors. I'm using FlyElise NG warping software. Immersive Display Pro, worth every penny. And it is cheap.

These giant projection screen setups would be pretty impossible without it. Warps and blends. I'm still learning blending which is why you can still see the seam. But when I'm done properly tuning it with the warping software it will be just one giant seamless image.

Just saw a few vids with projectors. Didn't know people were going that route. Well that is fantastically amazing sir, I wish I could have your setup. Amazing stuff. 👍

Awesome vid (and music) mayaman :)
I just moved my screens nearer my wheel/seat this week and found the immersion factor doubled in an instant. I could'nt do it before with the way I was setup but I'm about half way through my current changes before I update my thread.
I'm interested to hear about the blending software..why do you need it with 3 screens? I thought it was only really necessary with a curved screen.

Still awsome ;) and I'm waiting for a vid of the rig (dbox etc) in action

Nice. Some brightness adjustments to get rid of the difference between center and side screens and it is perfect!
Question: What was the game with beautiful open road in lmp2 style car? Seems almost like targa florio :)

That's just a trait of running 3 projectors, no matter where you film from one or more screens will always appear brighter..I dont think there's anyway round it unless you film directly from behind qute a long way.

Looks great! 👍 Thanks for posting that. Still undecided about the projectors (in my setup) but it does look good with no bezels, no denying that :)

It is not just projectors, the same happens trying to photo or video monitors.
Particularly models with limited FOV.

He already stated above the the perceptual difference is due to the camera more than the projector. Its very hard to capture a good screenshot using projectors, so the fact that you barely notice an edge from his video means you probably wouldnt see it as much standing there in person.

im drooling. look what you made me do .... gotta find some wipes.
more.. more .. .more....maybe more video showing d-box in action

Yeah in person you can't see any of that, but the HD camera's are so sensitive and the way they capture video its inevitable to look like that on video, don't know how to fix that. But in person, the light and colors are identical on all three.

Marcus, I'll be taking some more videos soon. Just need a break after this long build, the review, and gettinig the duct tape adhesive out of my side burns! LOL

If you follow my build, this really isn't that expensive. Most of my budget went to the D-box. If you're creative you can replicate a lot of this on the cheap. Just need to plan and plan some more. But it can be done. :)

Ok. I got this three times now. But what was the game?
