I know there are programs that let you stream video to your ps3 via setting the pc up to stream as a media server. I've tried a few programs like Nero Media home and others like TVersity and WMP but couldn't get the later 2 to work.

The problem with media home is that it is more than happy to make available every video I have to the ps3. But it will not sort it into directories in a folder like structure like on the PC. So instead if i want to view a video i need to sort through hundreds of videos in one big list.

Is there a program that allows me to stream my video files to the ps3 in a folder like structure? Thanks.

I use WMP 11 to stream my photos, music and videos to my PS3. There is some sort of folder like structure with WMP 11.

WMP organises your music, pics and vids by song, artist, album, genre, date taken etc. and it streams them to your PS3 just like that.

To use WMP make sure it's updated to atleast 11. Turn you PS3 on, sign in, make sure it's connected etc. Then on WMP click on Media Streaming and enable it. WMP should find your PS3 (it may be called an 'unkown' device). Click and enable streaming to your PS3 and there should now be an icon under the photo, video and music in you PS3. That will be WMP.

If this doen't work try turning your PS3 off and on, or google your topic. It isn't hard. You don't have to be a PC expert to do this.

Good Luck!:)

I'll try wmp 11 again then. I had some problem with it last time but can't remember what. Was 2 years ago.

I use TVersity and it retains the folder structure that is on the PC.

I use the same... and it does keep the folder structure as Daan says... I have to hard wire it one time though because if I do it with Wi-Fi, movies start to skip and stutter... music and photos are ok though...

Ty out PS3 Media Server. Nice little program. works on PC and Mac.

PS3 Media Server is a DLNA compliant Upnp Media Server for the PS3, written in Java, with the purpose of streaming or transcoding any kind of media files, with minimum configuration. It's backed up with the powerful Mplayer/FFmpeg packages.

Oh, and yes, folders just like on the PC.

TVersity here.

You do actually need to specifically tell it to just show the files as the folder structure as it is on the PC as I recall. Haven't changed its set-up for ages now.
